The Deer God....?

I played it for over an hour today...

I like how pretty it is, but the never-ending and rather repetitive environments kind of ruin it a bit. Not only that, but dying of hunger is a bummer and getting food, while relatively easy becomes a chore, so you don't want to do it, and that's when you
die of hunger. Also, there's an awful lot of spike pits, which seems rather odd in a supposedly natural environment. That being said, I like the inclusion of a lot of the dangerous wildlife and find it ironically cute and sadistic that you can find a fawn
and create a save point by having her (and your) baby deer follow you until it either dies or you tell it to sit (is having a baby deer born of your deer loins when you were once a man considered beastiality?). Not to mention that you're a man turned into
a deer that can then, in turn, kill other men (hunters) - weird stuff, indeed!

The inclusion of items and magical powers also seems really at odds with the game itself, but definitely makes it more interesting. I've found the old man's monocle, taken people to church (literally), reunited a woman and her children with her long dead
husband, and had 2 boss battles, 1 with a giant snake and the other with a giant snapping turtle. For my efforts I can now shoot fireballs or create balls of light that scare away enemies or help with moving blocks, and solving puzzles.

This game is definitely unique, I'll give it that - I just don't know if it'll hold my interest long enough to see where the end might actually come into play, if ever.

 

Garbage with GOLD, hehe thats funny. These trendy crap games are realyl starting to grate on my nerves. Everywhere I look , I see these side scrolling NES era looking games. Enough is enough. Look I would literally rather hit myself in the nuts with a flanged
mace thats been set on fire then play these trendy, craptastic, digital diarrhea, Indie games.

 

What a eyesore,it needs to be locked away where it can't hurt anyone anymore

 

i'd rather my daughter played these type of games than GTA type games lol ...

simple don't like it don't down load it lol ..

but I do think garbage with gold has now been coined lol

 

Im not even complaining to MS, it's free! But whoever made this....Thing? Well, its kinda crap.

 

It's from our aspiring young developers, just like every crap knock off cell phone game.

 

I don't think I've see a GwG so widely panned by everyone.... Oh well, I'll still add it to the queue and delete so it's available should some miracle happen and I decide to actually play some of this free stuff.

What is the point of this game??? I'm at day 21, have been a deer, fox, and porcupine?.... I think..... Am I suppose to be tweaking while I play this game??? As a deer I have killed hunters... and then they throw baboons in the mix??? WTF???

If you have a PS3, get Tokyo jungle, that game is Rad.

^ nooooooooooooo. this game is the equivalent of wiping your *** then using the toilet paper to make chocolate stamps. As you said earlier, "dont like dont buy" well duh! I dont buy them but they keep getting made and that bothers me.

So what did we learn today? two things , One this game should have been named "Deer God,where is the bathroom" and Two , the perpetuation of garbage will continue unless we stand up and say no more,we will not accept trash so dont bother making it.

 

I don't get the whole pooping on GwG,for years we paid for just XBL and then they add free games,granted most have played a lot of them but every once in awhile theres a gem like Tombraider Definitive,I almost bought it a couple months ago and now its free

it's kind of like ... I didn't buy an cutting edge bit of gaming kit to play games that can be played on an 1980's DX386's

I thought that loads of times but hay don't have to download or play them ... as much as a waste of time they must be to make, the only real place for I see fit for them is mobile phones.

although if it keeps my young daughter happy then I'm not moaning lol
