The current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox Live

I did a profile and downloaded the profile. Every thing so far works. But when i try to go on multiplayer Xbox live on "call of duty" black ops. I get a error msg.

"The current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox Live. I dont have the gold member ship just the free one.

You need a gold subscription in order to play online.

 

Didn't they remove that restriction

 

Not for online multiplayer. You no longer need gold to access apps, but you still need gold to play online.

 

Im trying to play this new game online, and I just downloaded it, but it is saying this same error message for when I try to go to "play online" ("The current profile is not allowed to play on xbox live"). I have perfect internet connection, I have done
what some people do for this problem, like re-downloading my account, resetting xbox, checking my connection settings, and I tried to buy xbox gold live membership, but it says I "cant have more than one of these on my account" which means I already have xbox
live gold membership. Ive done everything I can think of, and I just want to get online to play this *** game with my friends, please tell me what I did wrong or need to do. Thanks.
