The Crew price discrepancy

Dear Xbox

I've found a price discrepancy for the game The Crew Limited Edition. This is for the downloadable version on the Xbox Live Store. It is as follows :

The Crew Limited Edition Us price : $59.99 (As listed on xbox.com)

The Crew Limited Edition South African Price : ZAR899 = $81.99 (As listed on my Xbox One console's Live Store)

I've already contacted customer support and the case will be presented. He asked me to post this on the forums as well, so I'd just like to bring this to your attention.

Price discrepancy?!?!?

I found this deal on the Xbox Hong Kong Website yesterday (still there today):

BUT when I click on the button to purchase it I am redirected to the Microsoft Hong Kong page and the price changes to a higher amount.

Your customer service teams have been useless in trying to sort this out for me. Microsoft tell me to contact xbox and xbox tell me to contact microsoft. I'm told someone will call me back and no one does.

In my opinion it appears to be bait advertising which is illegal in Hong Kong.

I would appreciate a response/resolution ASAP.

As far as Microsoftstore.com pricing goes, reaching out to Microsoft Store Support will be the best route to take in regards to pricing on products. The Xbox Forum team does not have any visibility on Microsoft Store offers and promotions. Hope this helps!

 

Prices are different in every region, its no mistake.

 

It's a $20 difference. It is a mistake.

 

If it was a mistake they would have dealt with it, instead of sending you to a forum where all the people there are just regular users that have no control over anything on the marketplace.

Very often there is large differences across regions, more often than not here in the uk we pay about $10 more on every game than the Americans do.

 

Yes I understand that. The thing is that the Gold Edition of the game is exactly the same price as the US version, but for some weird reason, the Limited Edition is $20 more expensive than the US version. That doesn't add up to me.

Well if you look at the exchange rate, it's not so bad for you guys. Here in South Africa, it's absolutely killing us....

 

You're only taking the currency conversion into account, and ignoring other factor such as import duties (yes, they do exist for downloaded content), taxes, local licensing and distribution, market share, and a bunch of other
stuff I can't think of off the top of my head.

The questions I have for you are; Does "The Crew" cost more or less in the disc version in South Africa? And, does "The Crew" cost more or less than other major titles that are being sold in South Africa?
