I tried to update both remotes and the update failed and neither of them work at all. No power no nothing. I've done everything they said to fix it it doesn't work. I just got off the phone with microsoft and they said i have to pay to get my remotes fixed
and replaced even though their update has frakked up my controllers. I dont know about the rest of you but that's complete and utter BS!!!! They both worked great til your update and i have to pay to fix what you did to it??? Explain to me how that works
    exactly....

If i go into a customer's house and update their furnace or fireplace and in the process i break it i have to pay for it not the customer. This is basically what ive been told is we broke it but you have to pay us to fix what we *** up. I'm sorry but
    that's *** business practice.

    :)

Xbox One Controller bricked after failed driver update

I was using the Xbox Accessories app from my computer to update my controller, but not even half into the update it failed and bricked my controller, now it won't turn on either by USB or wireless.

    I have tried these methods:

    1) Uninstalled and reinstalled the bricked controller on my PC (which is now read as a USB not recognized, error 43)

    2) Troubleshooted hardware and devices

    3) Hard reset the console with the controller plugged in

    Any ideas?

I'm also part of the Preview program and that is where I got the updates from.

Just to verify to everyone, xbox WILL NOT replace the remotes their update frakked up. You have to pay them a service charge for them to fix what their update did to your remote. If you're under warranty it's all god though. That shouldn't matter as
    your update bricked our remotes.

Yes Microsoft I will be contacting an attorney over this if i have to pay you to fix what you did with your update to my remotes warranty or not.

Why should we have to send in our bricked controllers for replacement? I highly doubt they could replace my Titanfall controller, and I'm certainly not going to accept a generic replacement.

They need an update to fix this. You need software to fix a software issue.

Hopefully a gaming media outlet will find out about this and run a story. Bad publicity might generate some action on this.

I'll wait to see if there's a satisfactory solution to this, and if not, might have to send an email or two.

    Similar problem guys.

For months I have had a failing usb cable from the play and charge kit - Controller has to be held or placed at a certain angle for the orange light to stay on for me.

    First controller update was successful.

Second controller update failed as the cable completely stopped working, I can't get the charge light to come on at all, even when used on the controller which was updated successfully, the other controller has been bricked by the failed update.

  7. I cant perform a software update if i can no longer turn the comtroller on after a failure in their part. Both remotes worked perfectly fine until i tried their improved update and now both do nothing. All i can do is stare at the screen and play make believe.

    Good afternoon everyone.

I have the same problem after update of February 2015. The control stopped working. I'm frustrated because an update that promised improvements in my product, caused disorder. I hope microsoft due attention to the case. Several clients with the same problem,
caused by an official update. I hope that they are not in the bureaucratic, for the three months warranty. The problem to be presented with the product is derived from a OFFICIAL MICROSOFT UPDATE !.

After updating my control only works if it is connected via USB cable.

Let's focus and centralize this problem in single topic related to this issue.

This is the second that I related to the same problem.

(upgrade to wireless xbox one control, of February, is damaging the functionality thereof).

I wait anxiously for a solution from microsoft company!

    att.

The advisor I spoke to told me I had 1 year warranty for my controller that I bought in september. That is strange since you guys are all saying you have 3 months. Not complaining though!...

  12. So this morning I tried to update my controllers. Like most other people in this thread I used the usb cable that came with my Xbox one. The cable had been kinda broken recently and didn't always connect but I tried the update anyways assuming that if it
didn't work I could at the very least continue using them without the update. At the very beginning of the download (0%) it disconnected. I tried to reconnect it multiple times but it wouldn't work. Now my controller doesn't work at all. I have tried everything
in this thread but nothing seems to fix the problem. I don't know what else there is to do at this point other than buy a new controller. Please try to fix this soon.

  14. Hey everyone!

I am truly sorry to hear that the issue is continuing to occur. If you are able to, please let me know your console OS version and controller firmware. If you are not sure how to find those, check out my post on page
1 of this thread. Also, if you haven't already, let me know if the unresponsive controller works while plugged in to a USB cable. Thanks again!

    Mr. Quimby,

    console : 6.2.12128.0 (xb_rel_1502.150202-2200) fre

    controller : 1.2.2236.0.

Yes, mine would work plugged in via USB, but would not sync at all as detailed in my earlier posts. Only the X Home button worked wirelessly.

My controller was less than three months old (COD:AW controller) and was sent off to Texas this morning for a replacement.
