The complaint system on Xbox live

It's sad how you can report someone for threatening you or forcefully making you do somthing on Xbox and then nothing happens to them but the moment someone uses a modded controller they get banned from Xbox love which one is protecting the community
    more ?

    :)

    Unwanted Messages

You do not need to "keep it". Simply File a Complaint/ Block Communications and move on. The Message (or Messages) are "forwarded" when you File a Complaint. That is what the Complaint System does, it "forwards" directly from
your Xbox LIVE Profile to the Xbox LIVE Policy Enforcement Team.

I know plenty of people who haven't been banned using a modded controller. The complaint system sucks.

I'm confused about someone could possible "force" you to do anything on Live, but the moral of the story: Mute/Block communications from Jerks & don't use modded controllers.

The complaint system does suck. I have a friend who had to let the guy boost because he was threatend the guy said that he would hack him and get his account banned so me and 9 other people reported him and he's still on Xbox and my friend was hacked in
the end but he msg Microsoft and they re-activated his account

  7. Fairly sure it's impossible to be banned for modded controllers.

The complaint system isn't the problem. It's the people behind the system.

It doesn't take 9 complaints or 100 complaints to get someone banned. All it takes is for 1 VALID complaint for someone to get banned. It's easy to say that the complaint system sucks when it doesn't work the way you think it should. From my experiences,
MS takes every complaint and investigates fully. If they find that person breaking the rules, they get a ban, if they don't, they won't. I would much rather the guilty go ban free, than the innocent get banned.

    .

No one gets their account hacked from XBL, its from giving out your Live ID. Even people who get DoS'ed don't get their Live ID's hacked. If someone says that they'll hack them, they are full of it. If you gave them your Live ID email and password, guess
what they don't need to hack you. They got everything they need to log in!

    .

Also you will not get a ban for quick fire controllers as there are licensed controllers out there that has that built into it.

  9. "All it takes is one valid complaint"

Looks like your faith in the PET far outweighs their ability.

I would recommend not even filing complaints. Just 30 seconds of your life you will never get back.

When it comes to modders, the only winning move is not to play.

The system is only as good as the team that runs that system, that created that system, that is behind that system, as well as the community that USES that system. File a complaint, Block the player that is annoying you, and move along. Nothing left to see
    there...

It really is THAT simple. Whether they take action against them or not, It is not your concern.

I think there are certain extreme cases where it is very much my concern if the person is banned or not. Extreme cases of harassment and slander, for example (note the "and slander" part before anyone says to simply block communications, etc..., since that
can include a sort of second hand harassment through others).

  12. Someone called you some bad names over the internet. Why do you care AT ALL about what happens to them?

Harassment and slander can cover a LOT more than just "someone called me bad names". They can, in fact, involve the police at times. This does not change that they also violated rules over XBL, and perhaps people subjected to that would feel more secure
    knowing it had been handled.

  14. How many people have reported this person? It may take more than one complaint to push the xbox team to ban the culprit. I've reported many people in my day, many of which I'm sure never have been banned yet, but I really believe it depends on the level
or complaints a single user gets that will cause a ban to occur. So, the best thing you can do right now, is block, mute and report him. Hopefully someone will report him in the near future and maybe he'll be banned by then.

It really doesn't require more than one person. The Policy & Enforcement Team are investigating whether or not someone broke the rules, not how many people caught them. The File a Complaint system... the Justice System... when people demand that others
are punished, the system in charge of doing the punishing is never described as fair or functional as long as they are taking the time to take action when EVIDENCE compels them. Not like the good ol' days when all it took was a big enough lynch mob to see
the crowd's target burning at the stake. Sorry, no lynch mobbing on Xbox LIVE. Proper investigations take time, and sentences might not be levied for a while.
