the code i claimed is not working what do i do

i tried to claim a code on xbox but it told me to redeem it on Microsoft website so i did but its not letting me purchase anything with it, when i try it says to add a way to pay but it only says debit, paypal or redeem a gift card so i tried to use the code but it told me it was already claimed because i did it earlier. it says its on my Microsoft account but wont allow me to use it

The Real Quad, if I can ask but how do you know it really was a DDoS sans the assuming it was so you would be Kicked Offline from Xbox LIVE? What I mean is, are other Devices (say your PC) effected as well?
