The Clutch

The paddle clutch is nothing more that an automatic using quick gearing. Called an automatic clutch. If you use this you are losing control. If they really put the clutch on the steering wheel, normal drivers might die. Only way to disengage the clutch is
with your foot, less that the engine uses power to do it for you.

I use A as clutch (you need to use the default layout and then choose an option to swap e brake and clutch).

B to upshift and X to downshift.

I use my thumb to cover clutch and whichever gear button I need.

LOL, yea, that's alot of the reason why I've always hated the clutch and when I go into sarcastic conspiracy mode I think they never really programmed a clutch in but rather they realized they had reprogrammed the old shift glitch in and just decided to
not fix it and call it the clutch. It performs exactly as the old shift glitch did and nothing like a real world clutch.

You select Manual+Clutch in the assists first of all. Then it's just a matter of holding the clutch button while you press the up or downshift button, then releasing the clutch. Main difference between the game and real life is that you don't need to hold
the clutch at the start line with the engine in 1st. Just foot on the gas, and as soon as the counter hits zero, off you go.

Using a button for the clutch is your only option if you're using the MS wheel. There are other wheel/pedal sets out there (Fanatec, Mad Catz) which have dedicated clutch pedals, if you decide that you're in the market. I have a Fanatec GT2, and I always
felt like if I'm using a wheel with paddle shifters, then I shouldn't be using a clutch (button or pedal)...kinda like real life. If I do want to use the clutch, then I'll use either the H-pattern or sequential shifter. I don't care really about ultimate
lap time or that not using the clutch is slower in-game, I just want something that's fairly realistic and is fun.
