The Cloud Has To GO Bring Back USB

I live in scotland we get pretty crap weather due to unfore seen weather my internet went down for a few hours while playing witcher 3 the wild hunt

after 2 hours of playing with no internet my game decides i must have an online connection and disconnects me from game saying i must be connected to xbox live

and yes i just spent the last 45 mins collecting crafting items so no save if we didnt have this must be connected crap i could have been saving to my usb or hard drive

and not lost 45 mins of my life for nothing

what happens when some one hacks youre cloud and wipes it are we meant to accept a soory but start again and you know it will happen

as long as his account is downloaded on your console and he has a Gold subscription and cloud is enabled you can use the cloud storage.

It's also possible let him bring his account and save game via a usb flash drive.

 

Importing an ME2 save via USB stick?

Just to clarify, my ME2 save file has never been in the cloud. I transfered it from my HDD to a USB stick and just put it back on the 360 HDD.

Will I be good to go to import that save to ME3?

Why not have both saves locally and via the net? If the net goes down and then back up a few hours later. Then the cloud could pick up the missing game save from the HDD and alls well with the virtual world again.

Perhaps you should post this on the feedback page OP.

 

It already saves to your HDD & the Cloud.

You should set your console to "offline" mode if you are playing while not connected to live & it should just save to your hard drive.

 

Your saves are still stored locally on your hard drive.

 

the game didnt save mate as i hadnt given it a reason to as i hadnt traveled or meditated in a while

if i had been on my 360 i would have been saving every 5-20 mins as i knew i had to but this cloud just makes you lazy as you get to used to it doing everything for you and yes i lost all the crap i had collected

 

I think what the OP means is, your playing local campaign and the net goes down. But you dont realize that until much later when prompted to reconnect.

Now if you had advanced warning that the net, or XBL was going to go down, then perhaps setting console to. 'go offline' B4 playing would have sufficed. But those warnings NEVER come.

So the next best thing is for the system to not prompt for a reconnect, and allow the game in progress to continue unabaded.

Then when the net is back up, the cloud and local HDD saves could then auto-resynk and award any trophies\ingame saves earned without the gamer having to go into settings, offline and possibly starting his/her game over.

 

My xbox tells me straight away if I've been disconnected from xbox live.

How exactly would you get an advanced warning if live or your internet goes down? It's normally not something that happens on purpose.

 

Rule #1 in any RPG save often , cloud or no cloud problem solved.

^^ Lol,in Witcher terms that ain't a lot is it? I can see how it's frustrating though but as vikingland 1 said,always save often in rpg's.

 

45 minutes? I remember when my old PS memory card got corrupted and I lost more like 45 hours of Final Fantasy 7 game play.

 

It's my understanding the X1 saves to the hard drive AND the Cloud simultaneously. Forget which game it was, but the internet went out for about 25 minutes (In the middle of gaming.), then after rebooting the router gave the option of which save I wanted
to use.

This is true, but the problem comes about when you save offline to your hard drive, it won't be synchronized to your cloud save. Meaning, if load the game later on, when back online, the cloud save, not the hard drive save will
be loaded. Overwriting your hard drive save.

You can stop the cloud save from loading, but you need to be paying attention when it happens.
