    The chat does not work with my x41s on my Xbox One.


    I have used my x41s on my 360 for years without problem. I have also used them for game sound on my One for some time now. Today I purchased the stereo headset adapter so that I could use them for chat too. I went through the process of updating the controller
    and everything yet the chat does not work. When I unplug the mic from the controller I can hear my friends talking through the game sound. However, when the mic is plugged in I still hear the game sound but I hear no talking.

    How do you play game chat through the speakers? (Xbox One)

    An alternate fix to the issue for those who don't have the best soldering skills or the unusual tools needed to get into the unit at the base. Does exactly the same thing. Yes, I have turtle Beach x41s. They now give me full surround sound with a fully
    functional mic. I also hear game chat (not just party chat) through my headset) with the xbone chat volume control still working.

    Xbox One Mic and Xbox One Bundles

    Microsoft is putting out adapters for the xbox 360 chat headsets to work on Xbox One. I am not sure but I think that would work for Turtle Beaches too. The only adapter needed is for the controller. so I am hoping one adapter will adapt all chat lines into
    the controller. I love my X41s and I really hope I can use them long into the next gen. They have been working like a champ for 3+ years and I hope they continue to do so!

    XBOX One Chat Adapter & Turtle Beach Issue

    Here's my weirdness chronologically with the Turtle Beach X41:

    XB1 plugged into the X41 base using optical, and X41 headset plugged into the controller via the adapter. Adapter/controller is updated and audio set to 5.1/DTS.

    Issue # 1: I got no sound from my X41 base. The volume controls on my X41 base and headset did nothing. The resolution is noted below.

    Issue # 2: When I joined a party, I only heard chat audio from the controller to the X41 headset - there was no game/menu audio and issue # 1 continued. The volume control on the wire between headset and controller worked though, which makes sense since
    only chat audio was coming from the controller and nothing from the X41 base. Additionally the game chat balance (left buttons on adapter) worked OPPOSITE to what they should!! Pressing the controller increased the chat audio and lowered the game audio!!
    When I went into Titanfall, the chat balance buttons flipped and started working correctly - Pressing the controller increased the game audio and lowered the chat audio. Bizarre!!

    Resolution: I was able to solve the no audio issue by changing my audio output to Stereo on the XB1. I now get game audio and chat through the X41 headset, and can control the audio with all volume controls on my X41.

    It is a horrible kluge. The sound is terrible and doesn't work correctly as it did on the 360. Now if I want to watch a Blu-ray in DTS, I have to change the audio settings, so there's this back-and-forth all the time. I probably won't spend a lot on headsets
    again, I can tell you that much!!

    I bought the X41's for the 360. They work with the Xbox One via toslink optical but you need the adapter if you want to chat.

    Turtle Beach X41 - ECHO Problem

    So I have my x41's working properly for both party/game chat and surround sound. I have my optical audio cord hooked up directly to my base station from the xbox one and my chat cord connecting my headset and controller. The xbox optical audio set as bitstream
    out and the format is dolby digital. I have the audio balance on the adapter set to 100% chat. That gives me surround sound and chat.
