At least on PC, you have a fighting chance. With consoles, you either have them or you don't (and the ones that don't end up on the "short end" of that stick).

Oh, man, am I ever. I was prepared for another round of disappointment after DA2, but a six hour trial from EA completely changed my opinion. This thing is the real deal...an actual Skyrim killer. It's going to win sooooooo many GOTY awards in the new
year. I've been laying awake at night trying to decide on my freakin' class, after having tried 3 of them.

This and GTA 5 on the same day. I can see my level of personal hygiene going downhill in a hurry.

 

Is it as open world as Skyrim? Is it as varied as Skyrim? Is there as much to do?

 

I read it's not "open world" as such, at least not like Skyrim, You travel to areas (which are supposed to be huge). From a central hub via a map.

 

^^ It isn't a total open world game like Skyrim, but rather a bunch of areas on your map that you can go to and fully explore.

Not going to buy it cause EA is the Pub LOL. You people need to get over that crap hating a great/good game cause some company name on it.

 

I guess the easiest way to describe it would be, imagine if Skyrim's holds were all self contained areas that you accessed by a hub. I believe DAI has 10 of these areas, each being massive in size, with distinct climates, etc. Your central hub is a kind
of battle tower with a war room, etc.

This is different from the other Dragon Age games in that it isn't as linear. Before you would find a lot of invisible walls funneling you in one direction. This one has much more open space to go in multiple directions.

I can't imagine any game having quite as much to do as Skyrim in terms of crafting, etc, but it was obvious that DAI was going to have a lot more of this than they did before. The reason I'm excited is because this game will be offering a more open-ended
world to explore, but also giving us fantastic choice-based narrative and some of the best dialogue in gaming.

I'm telling all my Skyrim-loving friends to give this one a shot. It's no clone, but there's plenty for ES fans to enjoy.

 

If the Digital Price was £45 and not £55, ad I could get the EA access to get the discount I would be buying it at launch, but since it isn't I will happily wait.
