"The Black Market" - new feature coming in the next update

Basically, it's a system where you earn credits which you can then spend on burn card and insignia packs. Credits are earned for various things, such as winning a match or completing daily challenges, and once you hit level 50 a percentage of the XP you
earn will be converted into credits. Once you have enough credits, you can use them to buy packs of burn cards and insignias. The burn card packs are themed, so if you prefer a different style of play or different abilities, you'll be able to pick a burn card
pack that suits you. You can also sell your unwanted burn cards in exchange for credits.

Respawn have been clear that this is not a sign that micro-transactions will come to Titanfall. In fact, they have clarified that they absolutely will not come to the game. The credits you will earn are all earned through playing the game, so there will
not be an option to spend real money to gain any advantage (something I'm sure none of us are fans of!).

In-game currency has always rubbed me the wrong way because once you unlock everything, what are you going to do with all of the extra income? Luckily, burn cards are infinitely expendable, so this system should work out for Titanfall just fine.

 

This sounds okay, but I am hesitant to believe micro-transactions will not be involved.

 

I think it would lose them a lot of goodwill if they did add micro-transactions, given that they have plainly stated that the game will never have them. Titanfall 2 is another matter though. Maybe the long term plan for this is to see how well it works out,
then in Titanfall 2 you'll be able to buy the packs with real money as well as in-game credits, but I hope not.

This patch - and the new map pack - are out a week today.

 

i dont see in game currency as an issue because in this game, its not a matter of never reaching an unlockable item like say GTA that places a high value on cars/houses/weapons.

I'm happy to see a lot of our prayers answered though, with the blackmarket. Its been mentioned plenty of times here, the wish to exchange burn cards, and here we have it. As a GEN 10 pilot, with the high XP gain I see plenty burn cards coming my way

 

Really great idea,also very cool to have daily challenges to earn credits....

And one more time,the new maps looks amazing,can't wait....
