I'm not sure of the location of the exchange as tht can effect game play to, its funny you should mention about the providers above as I was researching deals online, I was thinking either bouyges / sfr but after your guidance, ive been checkin out orange
and free, and for the price free is looking awesome, great package and better internet quality.

i don't live in metz but since it's a big city, it will depend mainly on the area you live in,

if you already have a phone line you can try this website, if you don't have a phone number and a phone line install yet you can fill the informations with your neighboor address :

it will give you the best connection you can expect with dsl.

you can also ask your neighbors if the fiber is installed in your street / building but the ping won't be that much better with fiber, you probably also know that even if you have a very good ping, it doesn't mean you will have the same good ping in every
games, usually 100/150 is the best you can get in most multiplayer games on xbox live.

orange and free are the most reliable, avoid bouyges / sfr and all the other providers, they all use orange lines ( France telecom who is the only provider for phone line in france bought orange a few years back )

Free is his direct competitor who tend to be cheaper and provide more services, the modem freebox include a lot of hd channels and blu ray player, both orange and free have free phone ( domestic calls and some european numbers )

orange is more reliable in case of issues with your line and faster to fix it from my experience.
