The Art of Titanfall-

Okay, so I thought I would offer up an opportunity for Titanfall fans or interested buyers to ask questions about what the artbook reveals about the game. Weapons, Vehicles, Creatures, Locations... the works. If you are interested in buying the book I recommend
it fully, I've had an wonderful time reading about the lore and looking at the locations. Anyone else who has the book or has read it please feel free to chime in. Some of the locations are absolutely fantastic, and look glorious.

Expensive

Today has been very expensive for me today. i brought the art of titanfall, the titanfall CE controller, a xbox one official kinect tv mount, thief and plants vs zombies

I posted a Titanfall art thread that unfortunately got moved to the Titanfall section. It's got details on the monsters and maps, and yes, it is pretty crazy.

 

So uh, yeah lol You want anything described or named, please let me know.

 

Does it offer any detail on the wildlife we've been hearing about?

It certainly does. You've got this thing called the Leviathan which is... huge. I mean, I don't think I've ever seen a bigger animal design. It says right in the book that Mountains come up to it's knees. It says it's too big to show fully in game, but some
of the shots of the map Boneyard show it's legs in the background. It also mentions these flying creatures that look like crosses between Dragons and Wasps, and says that they 'like the taste of armour' and are attracted to the sound of heavy artillery. They
look hellish, absolutely horrifying. They have talons that could 'eviscerate' prey in an instant. There are others as well. They look like fusions of hyenas and porcupines. And there is this absolutely vile looking Giant wasp with a stinger that looks like
a scythe.

There are other ones too, but they get harder and harder to describe without spending more time doing so. It says many will just fly around, or walk around, and others will destroy you for just looking at them.

Just a question, more about the game I guess; will these monsters/wildlife play a role in the game? Will you be battling when a game changer giant wasp comes down, in which both sides will need team up and destroy before carrying on there own battle?

 

@kingvas - I was wondering the same thing. Kind of like that game Evolve that Valve's been working on, where you have to pool your resources to overcome a common threat...that'd be awesome!

 

It does not say unequivocally that you will face the monsters- whether solo, or as a team. However, what you can say is that the book singled out the Leviathan as something you wouldn't be able to see in it's entirety, which I'm taking as a hint we will
see it's legs (Hard to miss judging by the pictures) while the flying monsters are made to sound like battlefield threats. We'll have to see what happens, but the pictures of Boneyard show the skies absolutely teaming with these things. And there is a monster
that looks like a rock-face that may be hidden on Lagoon. It's all very exciting, and I love the fact that buying this book isn't spoiling everything for me. Sure it shows me locations and creatures, but how they impact the game itself remains enigmatic at
best. I don't think I've been this excited for a game in a very long time.

Yes, I agree. I enjoyed the 2d art much more than the 3d stuff.

 

@Gh0stz- yeah shame tho, since the expedition dlc i always though swamplands would make for a good "beast" to come charging out of the jungle (to head for the mvp or something), no instant kill but a threat. Give it 3/4 health of a titan with no shield,
kill a pilot in 2 melee hits, can rodeo titan does damage like kraber. If mvp got killed by someone sitting back and watching the pilot/beast fight, beast turns on killer.

Just one or two during a match, would have been unique and quite fun.

(personally i'd have loved to sit back and watch a few of my teammates being chased down!! That hyena/porcubine thing would have fit the bill nicely too!!)
