The account my cousin gave me is a child account

Hi,

I've been trying to get a custom gamer pic but it says I'm not old enough. My account used to be a child account back when Was given in 2012 but I now have a Adult account. My account settings for my birthday are definitely old enough also. When I try to
change my gamer pic though on the Xbox app it says I'm not old enough as well as on my Xbox. If there is a solution for this it would be greatly appreciated.

You can't change your age after the fact. The system won't recognize it. This is to prevent kids from just changing their age to bypass things. if it won't let you use the feature then you will have to wait

Thanks for coming to the forums. The birthdate on the Account website is visible and able to be changed. However, the birthdate that is on Xbox.com is not visible and can't be changed. Due to this if that birthdate is still under the age of 18, then that
is why you will still be registering as a child account. Also it is against the
terms of service to be giving out any account information. Being it is a child account you will not be allowed to change the gamer pic. You will need an a parent account to do this for you.

The age is determined by what was entered when creating the Xbox account and cannot be changed. If you've changed the age of the Microsoft account, that would not also change the age of the Xbox account. You would have to wait until the age of the account
reaches 18.

So at the very beggining; me and my cousin were the only dudes playing. An other of my cousin got an xbox so naturally we gave him the account and the problems started there. I think that it arrived because of what you have explained. Thanks; i'll try
to contact the support and manage somehow this problem
