Games can be stored on external drives. No need to keep redownloading anything. Store Series X/S games on external drive and then transfer to internal drive when wanting to play.

THE DRIVES have to be whitelisted by sony and only the upcoming samsung 980 pros match it with more coming to market thats the 7gb/s you were talking about

And they are expected at 229 for 1tb

The rocket pcie4.0 m2 falls short at 5000/4000

Thats priced at 179 euros but unless sony whitelist it I doubt you will get it to work

229 is probably the entry price for something 7k range as it is new tech

Yep they went the proprietary route which at the moment will be dominated by Seagate, but Microsoft may allow other Nand Flash SSD manufacturers to get on-board.

Lets be fair, what you've said is correct, but most console gamers aren't PC gamers or technically minded. The price is high at the moment, at least £50 more than a PC 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. But without a set standard, console only players would probably go with
the cheapest drive they could get, one that wouldn't be fast enough for Series X/S games. Or they'll attempt to buy one of those fake '1TB drives' from wish.com for £30 and then wonder why it's not working.

We don't know how much the PS5 ones will cost yet.
