What do you get with the Ghost edition?

 

I wasn't a huge fan of Halo. But I am really, really, REALLY enjoying this game. I am definitely picking up the full version when it comes out.

 

I had a look at the Ghost edition and you basically get everything that's in the limited edition plus a physical ghosts replica that lights up and two other physical things:

I pre ordered the limited edition so I can have the expansions already purchased.

 

Thanks for the link - I've decided to get the Digital Guardian edition that comes with the Expansion Pass. Still, that life-sized Ghost replica is amazing and looks really tempting...

 

Hello everyone

I know that this thread is about thanking Bungie for Destiny, but I would like to thank them for making the Halo series, especially Halo Reach.

Halo: Combat Evolved is the first FPS game that I played and I love the story that unfolds afterwards

With that being said, as much as I love the Halo series, the Master Chief's adventures should have ended in Halo 3 with him (the Master Chief) going home.

Day 1 buy this for me, although i don't get back from holiday until the 11th so it will be there waiting for me for a full weekends gaming!

Will be the start of the games rush before xmas and one i see myself playing for a little while

 

I played the Beta - I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure why I was sceptical, maybe I was a bit p1ssed off with the whole "lean towards Sony".

Anyway - I think I'll be getting it, but still a few questions remaining, hence will wait until after release before buying it. Game did feel very Halo-like (no surprise I guess). The AI of the enemy was pretty poor though (I only played in "normal")
- Halo AI felt better. I wasn't blown away by the graphics - but maybe the release version will be better.

I didn't get a chance to try PvP - but really likes the campaign.

BTW: Do we know if there is going to be an additional subscription for this, like most MMOs?

Also I was wondering how is it going to work in terms of number of players online on the same map? I'm assuming they'll have region specific servers and multiple servers per region to balance the load, but any idea how many players can be on the same server?

It would be awesome if you could fly to a location and it turns out there's 50+ other players there involved in a fire-fight with some heavy. I think if I knew that kind of stuff was going to happen then this game is a definite purchase for me.

Also would be awesome if the campaign was "free-flowing" in some aspects - i.e. a "new bulletin" that there is some massive enemy force at a particular location - so everyone jumps there and tries to defeat it.

i.e. I see a LOT of potential in the game - I just don't know enough to know whether it will deliver.

 

That sort of thing happens but on a smaller scale.

Rather than go for MMO they've gone for a shared online experience.

Some of the random events called for all the people in the area to unite and tackle an advanced threat. In one case that was a giant Mechaturtle.

i hate it though when the events start and youve got like 4 players connected and then they drop one by one leaving you by yourself

 

"Devil Walker" sounds much cooler than "Mecha-Turtle"...

But only slightly.

There was one of those things in the "Devil's Lair" Co-op mission and it was a meanie.

Do not stand still to wonder what that Laser Sight might mean.

There was another popped up as a random event while I was playing the other day.

It's great how there are some really powerful enemies running about.

I ran accross a Hallowed Knight, hit him with my Super Move point blank and he just looked at me and said "You wanna try doing that again"? Before punching me to a fingernail's length of health.

At least there's "Diablo" being released in August. The only problem is once "Diablo III" and "Destiny" release on the ONE... will there be any point playing anything else?

 

A turtle!? I figured it more for a spider than a turtle!

 

First time I encountered the Devil Walker was during the strike mission and the three of us only had peas to throw at it, took ages to whittle it down. Next stop the Tower for a rocket launcher!

 

I felt so sorry for some random guy who ended up getting stuck in the
Devil's Lair mission with me and some of my girls. We were in a party and we spent most of the time talking about shoes and dancing. There was this poor guy running around the map fighting this thing and we were like "Look
at that guy" and "Uh oh, he died... someone go revive him". On our first attempt of killing this beast, we actually thought we had killed it, but after we all ran up to it, we discovered that we hadn't. lol It killed us all and we had to fight it again. That
mission seemed to take us forever. I'm pretty sure that guy hated us. lol It was fun though.
