Thanks a lot Microsoft.. we demand a trade- in program to upgrade our consoles!

It kills me when folks jump on board and do nothing but expect repayment or compensation for their purchase. If your so disillusioned by your xbox 1 purchase go get a PS4 oh wait except they are now offering a PS4K as well. Young RJ4511, the life span of
a console is not great. And with this last debacle of under powered consoles (microsoft's xb1 for certain) you can't expect them to just leave things as be. the original xbox came out ahead of the curve for power. The 360 nearly on par with PC / GPU capabilities
in their time. So when the xb1 came out so far behind in power it was no wonder they fired the guy heading up the program and brought in Phil Spencer. He's a gamer since day 1 and is targeting gamers to "fix" the literal debacle of xb1. That's not to say xbox
live isn't still the best gaming network and really the updates have been based on full feed back from the gaming community. so sit down and enjoy your console. wait until November 2017 and get the scorpio. just so you know Sony didn't announce any news on
their "new/updated" console because it was slated to come out after the scorpio. Further, if you join the xbox live rewards you may just recoup some of your money. you get free money for achievements, buying new titles and other missions. look it up.

 

I don't see why anyone would lose it over the new model. A bigger harddrive, smaller in size, 4k video, so what? Still the same games at the same quality. Also, forget about Scorpio as a mainstream console. Just watch how it'll be priced like PS3 was at
launch or even more than that and that will keep lots of people away from it. It's for those who must have 4k and VR. So, just calm down and keep playing on your current One and continue life as usual.

Been reading that the s has a upgrade gpu and cpu gears dev have reported getting frame rate drops and slow down using Xbox 1 but not with the s article is on ign to lazy to post link

 

I'm not even really interested in 4K or VR and I'll still get the scorpio, haha.

It's funny how people say that MS stuffed up by announcing both at the same time, but if they didn't then everyone would complain they bought the S when the scorpio is out in 2017! They just can't win, I for one am happy they were transparent about their
plans and now we can make decision accordingly.

My bulky console (BTW, I don't think its bulky at all) works great and I'm looking forward to the Scorpio or whatever they call it.

wow I've had my x1 since day one and knew that MS would release another version down the line, am I bothered.. NO.. I purchased the console for what I wanted it for (coming from original xbox, 360, 360 elite) and now waiting for the scorpio - it doesn't
matter whether or not MS do an upgrade deal, they don't have to and i don't see why they should.

 

Todi is right. electronics are constantly evolving. however, I have my doubts about the scopio's relevance at launch. the X1 was already obsolete at launch due to poor planning by MS. does anyone here think that they'll pour enough money into scorpio to
make it truly advanced and therefore worth buying?

I think not. MS has a history of going the cheap way where console release is concerned. The xbox 360 was one glaring example, the X1 is another.

 

Sorry OP but thats not how life works. You bought this version of xbox and thats what you get. If you want an s you can go buy one. Sell yours on ebay or trade it in at gamestop. Xbox owes you nothing. You bought what you boughg

The old model still plays the same games at the same res? Its underpowered from launch but whats the point of complaining when we all bought in? If you want a new console get a job and save for it. I doubt you have a HDR capable monitor anyway to take advantage
of the improved colour which is the only advantage to owning the slim over the normal X1

 

As for the Scorpio, based on M$ current attitude and performance... it will also be a flop. 60Hz is a joke today when 144Hz is quickly becoming the benchmark. If microsoft really have the ability to design and produce a kick *** console don't you think they
would have done that with the X1 nearly 3 years ago. Think about how underpowered it was from launch and then apply that same theory to the scorpio and you prob won't be far off the mark. Although I really do hope for the best I expect the worse so I won't
be disappointed in the long run

 

I will wait for the Scopio version, it makes more sense to me and a better upgrade option than the S
