Text Message Notification Not Resetting to Zero

I'm having an issue where my text message counter keeps saying I have one message. When I check I have nothing. I've checked with the smartglass app and xbox.com. It's showing I have no messages. When I get a message the counter will say 2, 3, 4, etc. But
when I delete the messages it will always say I have one. I've done every trouble shooting I could. Removing my account from the xbox one, hard reboots, disconnecting from network, unplugging the power to the xbox one. Only thing I haven't done is resetting
the xbox one to factory defaults. I started getting this problem around the Destiny Beta.

I'm actually kind of curious why you're turning your console off in the middle of a match. You can leave if you aren't wanting to play, then quit out and turn off after.

There is probably nothing to worry about however as you are concerned I would suggest you just log into your account and change your password again.

I think there is nothing to worry about, only microsoft has the ability to send verification codes to individuals need to to verify that it's them who is logging in.

Google the number.

When the notification pops up, it has first an icon for the type of notification (game image for invites, envelope for messages) and then in the exapnded rectangular icon it says the name of the person who initiated that notification.

There are two 'sides' to the notification, the text on it switches after a couple a seconds, for instance from '13 sent you a message' to 'Hold Home to open the message.' - basically, it switches between telling you the name of the person who generated
it and how you can take action on it.

I'm having the same issues. My roommate can get my text messages, but no notifications pop up. I can't receive any. Invites are the same.
