Text chat with USB keyboard is incredibly inconvenient for EVERY game

One thing I've been growingly excited about in recent years is the implementation of mouse + keyboard and crossplay with PC. Especially with Quake 1 and 2 out, this is bringing me back to the days of Quake 3 Arena on Dreamcast and PS2. I definitely think it has a place in the living room away from your typical computer desk.. but Xbox is making it very hard to enjoy and be as prominent as it could..

For every single game that enables online text chat, Xbox requires you to pick up your controller to open the text prompt, and then a second time to send your message. Even for games where I'm not even playing with a controller. How can we fix this to use only the keyboard to type and send messages?

At first I thought it was Blizzard's doing when Diablo 4 came out. When I'm playing online, I have to navigate menus with the controller to open the on-screen keyboard, then I put my controller down to type my message, and instead of pressing 'Enter' to send message afterwards, I have to pick my controller back up and send the message with the A button. WHY?

This is the case for every game! Quake 2, Call of Duty, Elder Scrolls Online, the list goes on. For christ's sake we have Final Fantasy XIV about to come out and this should be solved across the console as a whole.

I can't tell if Microsoft has never even realized how broken this is or if it's just not possible. I also can't seem to find any other complaints online. Seems like it could be an easy fix. This is something that worked flawlessly on Dreamcast from 1998, and even beyond on Gamecube. I remember playing Phantasy Star Online back in the day and text chatting with a plug-in keyboard was immaculate.

I have no clue if PS5 suffers from the same issue. I feel it needs to be raised to people at Microsoft who could make this change happen. I love using these additional peripherals on the Series X nowadays. It's so close to being perfect.
