    I just recently bought the Texas chainsaw massacre game on my Xbox one. I assumed when I bought the game I would be able to play. After i launched the game and attempted to play, its saying I need a game pass? I guess I don’t understand why I would need a game pass after buying it? What’s the point of buying it if you can’t play without game pass?

    Are you asking why can you buy it when it requires a subscription to play?

    Online games on Xbox have required a subscription to play for 20+ years, the entire lifetime of Xbox online play. Sony and Nintendo have the same requirements

    very few games remain on Game Pass forever, especially ones based on licensed IP. For example Friday the 13th, its predecessor is being delisted due to expiring licenses, so if you like it, you may wish to buy it.

    Only a recent exception has been made for a free to play games
