Terribly disappointed with new Xbox S I received today

can anyone, tell me if it takes an hour to install a game on your S too? I typically have 60mb/s up and down and this is unbearable. Trying to transfer my library will take me ages. Any types tricks or ideas???

Broken Disk Drive

Received my xbox one today, set it up and when I inserted a disk, a loud grinding sound could be heard! So angry! It doesn't read any disks!! Extremely disappointed with xbox!!!

 

Repaired console, no gift received

Hi,

I've sent my X1 S monday and received a new one today (it seems they didn't fix the old one, she was only 3 days old)

I received with the console a letter in 3 languages and inside we can note "We have included a free month xbox live card" but there isn't so here my question:

Status on repair center is "current" for my old X1S, will i receive some mail notification with the code when the status will change to "complete" or is it a mistake from the repair center ?

Now, if i don't receive anything, i will not be disappointed at all, i'm very happy to have a new console

 

Put your games on an external drive, that way you only have to download them again if your drive fails. External carries forward from console to console (also bring your library to family friends house real easily). Just keep your apps on the console drive.
FYI, not sure if you can blame your console for internet speed and/or the MS servers being impacted...maybe blame the service? Not the hardware?

 

If your installing from a disc, go offline and let the disc install before updating. Digital? A lot depends on the game. Halo M.C.C. is over 80Gbs, so even at 60Mbs it could take longer than that. It would also depend on server load; sometimes it's a short
time to download the 412 preview updates, sometimes it crawls.

Truly disappointed? Take it back or return it.

 

I don't see what the big deal is. you can't play more than 1 game at a time. Play your favorite game while a different 1 is installing.

 

Try loading from a cassette player only to have it fail time after time then get back to me with a real problem...... ooops sorry folks went a bit retro then....

 

^ i actually fired up the old amstrad the other day to play golden axe over casette just to see the load time and its ridiculous. I dont think i'll ever moan about load times again after that experience

 

I had to Google to see what a cassette player was. lol

Ok, I'm starting to feel really old now, black and white TV, the screech of installing a spectrum game (and the fit inducing flashing lights) the terrible graphics on the Atari 2400...........................we really have nothing to complain about regarding
video games in this day an age.

 

It took 29 mins for my X1 S to perform its setup and update out of box. I installed Fallout 4, RDR , Doom, COD 3, Netflix, You tube all at the same timed (queued) and had Fallout 4 installed in about 25 mins.....
