Terrible streaming video quality

I have an xbox x hard wired (not wifi) to my router running 17mps download speed with properly functioning ethernet cable. And yet every time I try to watch a video on the hulu or amazon prime or netflix or any video app the video quality is insanely terrible.
It's heavily pixelated and often pauses for long periods to buffer. On several occasions the amazon prime app has stopped loading the video and informed me I don't have sufficient bandwidth to stream properly (even though the system is running with the specs
listed above). I have a smart tv running on the same network (same router, I even tried the using the same cable) that can run the exact same videos on the exact same apps flawlessly and in full resolution without any buffering problems so the problem is
clearly with the xbox system. The whole point of my purchasing this product was to take advantage of the higher definition video and the convenience of having all my video apps in one place, it worked fine when I first shelled out for this thing...WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS CONSOLE?!

Streaming video quality

I've noticed this too but not just on netflix. It seems to be the same in YouTube and on twitch. Of course I haven't done any really looking into the issue but that's how it seems.

I am noticing a distinct difference between the 360 and the One when streaming video using wireless. Specifically, Netflix on the 360 when streaming produced a high videlity/high quality image. on the One the image is pixelated and not HD. I am using the
same network.

 

Also I forgot to mention I've already tried a hard reboot and uninstalling then reinstalling the apps which made no difference.
