    Terrible quality xbox one headsets

The quality of the mic/headset supplied with the xbox one is of both terrible design and build quality. I myself have already gone through 3 and I know of many others who have experienced similar headset failures. The wire connecting the headset to the
connector is too thin and becomes detached. As far as I am concerned, for a next generation console to come with a "wired" headset is a sad situation. The fact that the xbox 360 had Bluetooth capabilities and the "next gen" version does not makes no sense
what so ever. I have owned an xbox 360 wireless headset for over 4 years and even after that many years of abuse it still works perfectly. On the other hand, the xbox one wired headset is lucky to get 4 months even when treated as though it were made of
glass. The lack of care and thought that went into the design of these headsets is very disconcerting to me as a long time Microsoft supporter. If anyone at Microsoft is listening, please correct this situation and give us a worth while wireless headset like
we had on the xbox 360

    :)

Xbox Please bring back Dolby Digital Surround Sound

I'm Astro A40 headset user and sadly the quality of them sound terrible do to the fact that we only have one option "Stereo Uncompressed" and the quality isn't the same as Dolby Digital Surround Sound. We used to have that option on the Xbox 360 and know
we have stereo uncompressed which is TERRIBLE, please bring back Dolby Digital Surround Sound.

    Please Fix This Thank You!

Turtle Beach PX3 Sound Quality Issues

This is my first post on the Xbox forums, but I need some guidance with the issue I am currently facing.

I am currently using a Turtle Beach PX3 headset with my Xbox One, I have purchased the Headset Audio Adapter and the sound quality is, quite honestly, terrible. I hope it's due to some settings I need to change and not the software in the console and adapter.
The headset sounds fine on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 but no matter what I change, the sound quality on Xbox One is always muffled and distorted.

Hopefully someone can guide me through whatever process it may be in order to get the best sound quality from this next generation console.

I never really used the headset that came with my Day One Edition Xbox One. I waited until the real headsets started coming out before I started seriously doing any mp gaming on Xbox One.

I am still using my Day 1 wired headset and it works perfectly.

I would love them to release something similar to the small wireless headset that was on Xbox 360 though.

I think it depends on how you store them if you hang them up they last, I shoved mine in a basket which had all my controllers and headsets in and they broke quickly, but then again so did the branded expensive headsets.

I have to agree in some areas with that. Turtle beach is a good brand for Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 headsets.

When I got Xbox late 2010, the headset which came with my Slim 360 console broke without me even trying. A short while later, I got the Xbox wireless Bluetooth headset, I had to SHOUT into it for it to pick up my voice, it doesn't have very good voice receptors,
tho it looked kwl. The headset which I got with my Xbox 1 Day 1 Edition console still works but I hardly use it because I can using this amazing thing call Xbox 1 KINECT. Although COD games don't support it (AW, BO3, maybe Ghosts too, voice chat not supported
you have to plug in a mic). Yet Forza and I think Happy Wars, definitely Minecraft, support Kinect voice chat.

On the up side, Microsoft does provide us with other stuff which we use in our life, which is beneficial. And do agree that the chord which you have to connect from your headset to your controller, is cheap and can easily get worn. Then you hear a lot of
this kkkkwerk kqqqqqq with my experience on Xbox 360 from many friends and lots of people online. The chord functions fine is we just sat like statues cuz there's no disturbance to the chord. kk kwl kwazy. I guess I'm not the only person who likes the letter
    k...

One thing I must mention is that Forza lobbies like Forza 5 and Forza 6 especially, the Virus tag and be it lobbies are so boring. Everyone has mics but no one talks, so serious. You play some music to get some hype going, and some grumpy mojo replies. Those
are like playground playlists which should get a lot of younger hype, sometimes they do. I'm just use to the hype from Halo and Cod and Minecraft on Xbox 360 even on Xbox 360 Forza 4, there's more hype in the lobbies there. But maybe it's personal experience.
Maybe all the hypo's are still on 360. I've had at least some fun hypes in Forza Horizon 2.

I have the turtle beach x42. regarding the chat cable which you link your mic to your controller with, yea I had to order a new set TWICE from Australia/New Zealand's Turtlebeach supplier as no retailers here sell chat cables which are guaranteed to work
with your headset. The first time I had to pay NZ$15, but the 2nd time they gave me two cables for free, lucky and thanks. I use to have a turtle beach XP500 but it developed cracks and under NZ/Australian consumer rights legislation (we have good rights here)
I exchanged it for the turtle beach X42 and the retailer refunded the difference. With Bluetooth completely wireless headsets, you're friends as with my experience, say you sound can-y or tin-ny. I've heard plenty on XBL say they lost their mic or it broke
cuz of the cheap plastic. A next step up could be Kinect, if common developers like COD would support it for in-game chat rather than having to use a mic. They support Kinect for COD BO2 on Xbox 360. And Xbox 1's Kinect has better hardware. Certain people
don't like it for different reasons. But I do think Microsoft has really improved the hardware with Xbox 1's Kinect. It's not going to be 100% perfect as evidence with Voice Commands (and game developers not supporting it for game chat). But Just inv them
to an XBL Party, where Kinect chat is absolutely supported. Actually the chat cable with the headset which came with my Xbox 1 console the cable seems to be made out of better material, but it is thinner. It's like a flexible thin rubbery material.

Mine lasted about a year. I would hold the controller up, while letting the headset dangle and spin, to get the kinks out; probably shouldn't have done that. Lol.

Would love to have a wireless Bluetooth headset like the 360. Or in the case of the X Box One, maybe a Wi-Fi Direct headset?

    Peace, J.R.

@EnenDaveyBoy, while the Afterglow AG9 is a nice headset, I prefer mono headsets; like to have one ear for hearing the family/girlfriend.

gotcha, my family don't like to hear the game sound, i just flip and ear off when I need to, normally half way through the misses saying something and she has to start again.

You could always get the GF an xbox and party up with her, problem solved lol.

She's got one! Lol. Although she isn't getting to much use out of it, as her taste in games is very select; if Civilization:Revolution would hit on the backward compatibility list (Or a new Civilization/Fable game.), I wouldn't have to hear,"Why did I buy
    this thing?!" so much.

    Peace, J.R.
