Terrible Experience with Microsoft Rechargeable Battery Pack (2-pack) and Customer Service

I bought one of these 2-packs for use with my 2 Xbox 360 Wireless Controllers. One worked normally and the other would not charge (would show green on charging cable but have no charge once disconnected). I bought it from Best Buy but was late to notice
this and so it was too late for a return/exchange. I called Xbox Support on the phone and they told me to send each battery pack separately and after waiting over a month they sent me two opened/used battery packs with no original packaging and in two separate
shipments. They were clearly used with visible scuff marks on the plastic and stickers and the stickers/contacts/plastic didn't even match which suggested they were from different batches of these battery packs. Worst of all, these battery packs provided about
5 hours of battery life after being charged for at least 6 hours straight. I went from having one normal battery pack and one defective one to two old and barely working ones.

So, I called Xbox Support again and told them I wanted my money back or a new 2-pack sealed in original packaging (to make sure they are new and from the same batch). They said yes and now after over another month I ended up with 2 more old, defective packs
that won't even charge (just show green on charging cable but dead when disconnected). I should mention they made me even pay return shipping last time, which is ridiculous since it's their mistake.

I'm just going to buy another 2-pack from Best Buy with my own money since any further attempts to rely on Xbox Customer Service would be a waste of my time, money, and patience. This post is to warn others about how Microsoft doesn't replace a defective
new product with a new replacement but rather an old, used one that doesn't work normally or at all and they did this twice in a row at my expense. I will think twice before buying anything from Microsoft again, since their customer service is terrible.

    :)

Controller has hard time connecting to XBOX

Are these controllers using the rechargeable battery packs? Or just 2 AA Battteries?

    Xbox one controller cuts out/disconnects
    **Continued Thread**

I also have disconnect issues, but only with the rechargeable battery pack. I noticed that if I have the battery pack in and i firmly grip the controller and gently twist it the power cuts off on all my controllers with the battery pack.

I try that same grip with AA batteries and I don't lose power. It seems the battery pack only has two contacts and it may be losing contact with the metal clips as the controller flexes.

Are any of you with the rechargeable battery pack also experiencing this?

How Do You Guys Charge Your Controllers?

Using Venom Battery Base Charger that supplied 2 battery packs that last over 8 hours. Recharges the batterys in about roughly 30-50 mins. The Play and Charge kits kept breaking on me which annoyed me alot and a terrible lasting.

Xbox 360 Controller doesn't know when to charge

    Hello ,

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. Are you using the rechargeable battery pack or batteries? We have

    a support article
on our website regarding the rechargeable battery pack not being able to charge. This will help determine if the issue is with the hardware. Be sure to let us know the results!

    Charge and play kit issues

Stupid question but I assume you are using the rechargeable battery pack and not regular AA's???
I stopped using the battery pack. It just doesn't hold the charge like I thought it would. The rechargeable AA batteries have lasted so much longer than the battery pack.

I wanted to pass along my experience and what I'm using. The cost for the AA battery charger and 4 AA NiMH batteries was the same if not less than the play and charge kit.
