Terrible download speeds on my Series X, compared to my One S.

For some reason, my Xbox Series X can only get about 35-40mbps download speeds, and 10mbps upload speeds however on the same network literally right next to my series X, on my one S I can get 260 down and 64 up. I have tried every "fix" and all I can think is either my series X is defective or it's just the WiFi card in the actual machine.

No idea what's going on but a console that costs £450 and released in 2020 shouldn't do worse than a console released in 2016.

Hello Thenewrecruit, you mention that the two consoles are on the same network, they are connected by wi-fi or network cable, if it is by wi-fi, can you tell if the 5.0Ghz frequency of your home network is active?

If it is a network cable, are the cables exactly the same, that is, the same category and speed?

Xbox series x. There is so much documentation about this issue, no-one has a solution (apart from streaming on twitch, saving the vod and then editing the video). Compared with my xbox one captures, taken well over a year ago, they are awful, choppy, stuttering messes. This is not a problem on my end, this is a problem with the xbox series x capture system. The fact captures are STILL terrible is a joke, given the series x was released over 18 months ago.

i disagree, the series s is a good few years old tech now, so is the series x. i have a series s for my youngest kid and i can definately say, it is trash compared to the pc's in my home, its slow, games are running at mostly low to probably low-medium. series x is also getting on a bit compared with the tech available these days.

An i can deffo say the PC games i play come in way above the series s and even better fidelity and framerate than series x,

Ok I have both versions of GTA downloaded on my series x the Xbox one version works fine on the series x I then downloaded the series s/x version on the series x I then launched the game and it gives the error message

No, sorry it won't work. The USB ports on the Series X|S are USB 3.1 which have a maximum speed of 500MB/s. This means, no matter what drive you buy, no matter what speed it's rated at, you're stuck at the max speed of the USB port.

The only drives that can be used for Series X|S games are either the internal or the storage expansion card.

I have the Expansion card for my Series X. I also have an external 2TB USB SSD in an enclosure. I can only use the external SSD for Xbox One games. They do load a lot faster than a mechanical hard drive, but I can't play my Series X games off it.
