    I originally bought my Xbox One in September 2014, however it suffered from the 'coil whine' issue and I sent it in for a 'advanced exchange' repair. Now since all my Xbox one games are digital I did not notice that the console Microsoft had sent me back
    had a faulty Blu-Ray Drive.

    So a month or so ago I got my first physical game (Forza Horizon 2 - New Disc), the game would however fail installation at 20% or so, but install perfectly fine on my Brother's console. As a result I went through with another 'advanced exchange' repair,
    the console from that repair had a slightly better Blu Ray drive as the installation would still fail but at 85%...

    So over a week ago I had to initiate ANOTHER 'Advanced Exchange' Repair, that console arrived yesterday but the installation fails at 5%, which is the worst I've had from any console yet.

    This was a brand new game so the game is NOT the problem as it installs on another console without the slightest issue. Customer Service always tell me 'what I want to hear' and do nothing to help resolve the problem. I am getting absolutely annoyed about
    this, I have been very calm and professional with customer service but they seem to not be able to do anything effective. I have also been through 'troubleshooting' with the agents just to be friendly, knowing full well it's a pointless exercise in the case
    of my issue.

    I have been told that all consoles sent for a advanced exchange repair are refurbished even though they are re-packaged to look like a new console. I have also been told they are 'tested' but this seems like a complete lie as I am on my 3rd console alone for
    disc issues alone but am not getting anywhere with this at all.

    I have been a loyal Xbox Customer since 2008 and have bought many consoles and introduced many family members to gaming on the Xbox 360. I have also had to go through the repair process many times in the past for my Xbox 360 and have faced similar issues such
    as those I am facing now.

    All I want is a Working Xbox One with a Working Blu Ray drive... I was told by the CS agents that they would put 'notes' on my account to ensure that this happened but either they are lying or the overall repair process is a shambles.

    Microsoft has a very firm approach, regarding console repair services.

    I am truly sorry to hear about the repair issues and any inconveniences this may have caused. I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. Just to make sure that we have covered all troubleshooting steps, I would like to ask a few clarifying questions:

    • Is the issue occurring specifically with the Forza Horizon 2 disc?
    • Have you tried installing a different disc?

  5. I've tried a friend's Halo Master Chief Collection and that fails too.

    After Halo being a disappointment, sometimes I wonder why I even bought only for it to cause me so much hassle (Hold on card, having someone into get the delivery and then having to drive to UPS drop off point after work.....)

    Sorry to hear that the issue iscontinuing to occur. Another suggestion I recommend trying is to disconnect your console from the internet while installing the game. You can try this by completing the following steps:

    • If you are using a wired connection, just unplug the Ethernet cable from the back of your console.
    • If you are using a wireless connection, press the Menu button from the Home screen.
    • Select Settings and then select Network.
    • Select Disconnect Wireless.
    • After you have disconnected your connection, navigate to My games & apps.
    • Highlight the game you are trying to install.
    • Press the Menu button and the select Cancel.
    • Eject the game disc and press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • Wait a few minutes and then power on your console.
    • Once your console is powered on, insert the game disc and follow the prompts to install the game.
    • Once the game has installed, plug in your Ethernet cable.
    • If you are using a wireless connection, press the Menu button from the Home screen.
    • Select Settings and then select Network.
    • Select Set up wireless network and follow the prompts to reconnect your console.
    Give the listed steps a try and let us know if the issue continues. Thanks again!

  7. Just tried earlier and the same occurs, it made absolutely no difference.

    Each repair is taking at least 2 weeks overall turnaround and I've got no faith at all in the repair system anymore Terrible Customer Service / "Repair", on my 4th Repair now...... :mad:

    I was contacted at work today by a friendly fellow British chap from MS HQ in Reading which was a surprise, he sorted out a label for me physically send this console in; though he did admit it won't be the same console I receive back..
