Terraria Update!

Just to let people know, Terraria has just had a huge update for Xbox360 and PS3.

For those of you that stopped playing the game, the update is huge and changes a lot of things including new terrain features, weather, enemies and so much more!

I need help

hey I need help I have a xbox360 and I just got terraria. I realized I didn't have the newest update for terraria but I don't know how to update it. Do I need Xbox live?

When is the 1.3 update for Terraria coming too Xbox one?

 

Has anyone played the game since the update, if so what did you think if it?

I personally liked the terrain smoothing, no more getting caught on random raised single blocks. The new trees are impressive as are the new terrain textures, I have also noticed quite a few new enemies and other objects, all in all it's a great FREE update,
apart from Minecraft there are not many games offering regular FREE updates with so much added content.

 

That's great. I couldn't play my copy as the console kept seeing it as the trial copy even though I'd fully paid. Other people had the same issues.

I really hope that is fixed so that I can play it!

 

warning: dont update until you have everything you want to make sure is safe in your inventory, maybe spread some chests of the less important stuff around your world...i updated and a large chunk, longer than can fully be seen in map, was stretched upwards.
i lost most of my post hard mode stuff that i didn't have on me, though i salvaged a bunch of empty chests and a couple suits...but i lost nearly 2,000 stars and the star cannon, several chests full of accessories and weapons, a couple chests full of ore and
ingots...it was pretty bad. i do not know if this is a problem on xbox, i'm playing on ps3, but this is just a warning for everyone. i know others have had the same problem, but not sure if they were on ps3 or 360..

 

I had no problems with the update, but it was on PS3, after I checked everything out I deleted my world AND character, I do this to prevent file corruption, not that it's ever happened on any game anyway, unless I have just cursed myself that is. I had all
the top armour, weapons and items and many platinum coins, but it does not bother me, I like to start fresh when I get a new update, I do it on Minecraft too, it makes the game feel new again!

aside from my...literal first world problems, i really like this update. i have discovered something really weird though. putting objects into a piggy bank, leave, then come back will change the objects you put in there, but keep the quantity. i just tried
it a minute ago and got *** like 2 beach balls, 281 iron pickaxes, 370 stone walls, 5 gold watches, 172 depth meters...i have no idea if this is a bug or a new feature of the piggy bank, but i'm gonna play around with some more...

 

I would imagine that is a bug, I don't know why you don't delete your worlds and character and start again, that should prevent problems and the game will feel brand new, it doesn't take long to get going again, I have done it with each update...

 

Never played this game myself but I know of it. Thanks for posting WILK0! Nice to see a game supported like this even way after release, randomly too

 

It's a great little game, it's a nice change from Minecraft, although Minecraft is the better game, I loved Lego as a child so naturally I love Minecraft, I am addicted to creating ornate towers!

It's a shame the word generator was changed on Minecraft, I was a huge fan of the Archespore map, but it's no good now, I am still trying to find a comparable map for the latest version if anyone knows of one.

Basically it's extreme mountains with arches and overhangs...

 

so far really liking the new features of the update. turning blocks so they smooth out and whatnot is fun, i've got a pyramid house now, and i killed the bee queen surprisingly fast and easy and on accident...i found a new jungle dungeon made of blocks my
adamantite drill can't break, probably a post-hard mode area or something. right now i'm just trying to get all the npcs back and build a new sky bridge to harvest stars for a new star cannon so i can wipe the bosses and get back into hard mode.

 

I love Terraria! I'll have to move my Xbox 360 back into my room so I can get this update and check it out. Thanks, OP!

 

Thanks myers! I am a lot like you on that score. Macano, Lego ect... loved to build and expand. If this is like that then I am a little shocked I haven't played it sooner. Did the devs mention why the sudden update? It's unusual that a dev updates a game
this far after release, for free especially lol. Unless its not as old as I think it is.

 

I think the devs are trying to tap into the Minecraft market, and have adopted the same marketing strategy of constant support, it's worked a treat for Mojang so 505 Games are giving it a shot too.
