Terraria issues but its the saved worlds

Hi, we bought terraria for my son and he has been playing it for 2 days now, today the game has started to lock up when he chooses to go to the world he saved.

Everything else works, training menus etc its just when we choose his worlds.

We have tried everything that the xbox says to try but it hasnt worked. I have un installed the game and reinstalled but still the same problems.

I have now even bought it again but as a down load copy to cross out any disk issues but its still the same problem, hangs and makes a grinding noise.

I have noticed that when i un installed it didn't get rid of his saved worlds and wondered if it can just delete those saved worlds and treat it as a fresh install but looks like to do that you have to delete all saved games.

Can any one help us? my son is very sad

Cloud save gone

I had Terraria saved and I needed more space at the time for other games and when I finally got a bigger hard drive my save had the world but all my gear and items that had were gone with my character all my 20+ hours gone.

 

Terraria game problems

My son has been playing Terraria and has quite a few saved worlds but when he trys to load any of the worlds the game makes a buzzing noise and boots him back to the dashboard this also happens when he logs in on my Xbox

We've tried hard resetting the Xbox and deleting the saves from console only any other ideas ?

Try rebooting the Xbox hold the power button on the front of the Xbox until it turns off

 

Yes we tried that but still same issue. It's almost like the issue is with the saved games as the menus work, training works creating a new character works. Soon as you try and play it crashes and makes the noise like a stuck horn

 

Have u looked at manage game to see if there is anything corrupted?

 

I have looked at that but it looks normal but tbh I am no xbox guru. It's my 9 year old who is wiz

Is there a way to delete the saved ganes from the cloud that they are saved on?

 

If you go to the game and then manage game you should see the saved game data and you should be able to delete from there

 

Right, so have deleted all the saved game data from console and cloud (delete everywhere). Have un installed the game. Re started xbox following holding the button in for 10 seconds.

Re installed the game created a new character then selected the character, which we could do before, then went to start playing it goes to your worlds and online one and then does same. Hangs with a grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr noise and then goes back to the home
xbox screen.

 

Try contacting Xbox support see if they can help

 

would seem we are not alone and its an issue with the sync to the cloud from the game.

I don't recommend the 'holding power button for 10 seconds' hard reboot. It's hard on the system. Instead use the power saving mode when turning off your xbox. Then when anyone asks if you did the 10 second 'trick' you can still say yes because the power
saving mode accomplishes all the same things that the 10 second trick does but it a much calmer manner. Like parking your car by using your brakes vs rolling into a wall, both will stop your car, but one will give you less trips to the mechanic.
