Terraria isn't working with my controller

I'm playing terraria on my Xbox one and my controller keeps stopping. It's not a console issue because when I press the Xbox button it works just fine. If I try to play keyboard and mouse, randomly I will start moving to the left and if I use my controller it works but then the issue initially stated happens. What do I do?

I think I'm having the same issue is it where the controller just stops working but the game seems to be fine

This only happens on terraria and my game and console is up to date. I did a hard reset and so far it has worked for me

Is this happening only with Terraria or the problem occurs with more games?
Do you know if the game or the console received an update lately?
May I know if your controller is up to date? And if you tested the game with a different controller?
And what procedured you tried to fix this?
