Teredo IP address issue

What Country/State/Province do you live in? UK

Router brand & model number: Sky hub SR102

Wired or wireless: Tried both

Things you have tried: DMZ, port forwarding, static ip

Is UPnP Enabled? Tried it enabled and disabled

Do you have a NAT error? Your network is behind a firewall (or not connected)

Any Error Codes you encounter: Cannot get a Teredo IP address

Who is your ISP?(Internet Service Provider): Sky

Everything works on my console and all of my devices except for online play which is obviously very frustrating since I just got Destiny.

Some history. So I moved the Xbox to my bedroom because my son just broke his leg, everything worked fine, was wireless the same as the previous place it was located. Mloved it back to its previous location last night and was unable to get onlne due to this
teredo ip address thingy. Turned the router off and on, same issue. Rang my ISPs technical support number which was included in my router box, the guy had no idea what a teredo was.

After some google searching Ive found out its somethng to do with IPv6 whch my router doesnt have any settngs for. I opened the ports from this very site. Ive tried placing the consoles IP address into the dmz. Ive enabled and disabled the UPnP. Nothing
works.

From reading another thread here doing a factory reset on the console may work but I am hesitant to do this as most of my stuff is digital and my download speeds are pretty weak to just redownload everything so I may go out this morning and pickup a cheap
500gb external hdd to place all of my items on to before I try this process.

Basically I am just looking for information to provide my ISP with as to this IPv6 thing so they can hopefully assist me with fixing this issue so I do not have to purchase a 500gb hdd as I do not have the funds yet to get a 3/4tb as I originally want.

:)

Teredo is unable to qualify - I've tried EVERYTHING...

Teredo is a networking protocol that’s used to establish secure communications between clients and servers, and to facilitate connectivity between devices behind routers that use network address translation
(NAT).

Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC
that’s disabling Teredo functionality. Without a Teredo IP address, you’ll be unable to use party chat or do multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live.

Note The Teredo IP address is only necessary for Xbox Live party chat and multiplayer features. If your game doesn’t use the Xbox Live service, consult that game’s support site for help
on chat and multiplayer issues.

Teredo IP address issue

Before you try a fairy reset you may want to check if there is an alternative MAC adress configured in your One. Go to settings / network / advanced settings to check. Please reset it, if it's configured there and then run the multiplayer network test again.

And for your understanding:

Teredo is the name of a network protocol used to for tunneling IPv6 data packets through a IPv4 network connection. Teredo IP address issue ;)

Hi BobMcFly247, I have tried everything from dmz to opening ports, reseting the router to default (even though nothing had been changed), reseting the ip address, dns, mac address, having the X1 as the only device connected to the router, spoke to
my ISPs technical support who didnt know what teredo was so I gave them informatiom stating it has something to do with IPv6 and the router I have from them doesnt have any options to enable/disable it.

According to the guy I spoke too theyre sending me an upgraded router which should arrve 3 - 5 working days from yesterday.

I needed an external hdd as Im down to 30gb even after uninstalling games.

I am currently in the process of moving 330gb across now so I can do a factory reset in the hopes it will help, otherwise I have to wait for this new router to arrive to see if that fixes the issue.

Factory reset of the console seems to have fixed the issue and I now have an open NAT which is allowing me to proceed into multiplayer.

Im having the same problem? Did anyone solve it? How?
I just figured it out. Go to networks settings > advanced settings > alt. Port change, select manual, pick any of the five below the preset, back to advanced settings, alt. Mac address, clear. Restart console. It worked for me and according to the creator
of a youtube vid (I'll link) it has worked for him on several occasions.

Teredo IP address issue

It's an issue with port 3544 on the router side but there is no reason it should be hicupping this bad. Even the ISP cant firgure it out. And my PS4 is connecting just fine.
