Teredo IP Address Issue and Moderate NAT

My NAT was configured to be open for a very long time through port forwarding. I had to purchase a new router, the Netgear R6200v2, to be exact. Since then I've encountered inconsistent NAT readings the Teredo IP error, game breaking lag, and dropped voice
chat. I have since tried to forward ports, enable UPnP, DMZ, and factor reset the console. None of these options have worked.

I'm starting to feel in over my head. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

    Port forwarding question

I have had similar issues with the XB1 and my BT Homehub 3. I originally assumed that it was the general state of the BF4 servers but turned out that my NAT type was moderate. Re-booting the router had no effect, but I managed to force it back to Open by assigning a static IP address via the router settings page.

Next day, the router NAT Type had reverted to Moderate and nothing would budge it. In the end I performed a hard reset of the router (to supposedly clear all existing links to devices past and present), and re-assigned a static IP address for the XB1 again. This did force the NAT to Open again, but we'll see whether that's still the case later this evening.

I have very little knowledge on networking - does anyone have any suggestions (I dont know what UPnP is, what it does or how to configure it)? I also have an XB 360 that still get used - does this mean that everytime I connect to Live, the XB1 NAT type will revert back to moderate?!

Unable to connect to party chat at all on Xbox One. NAT type always strict and "Can't get a Teredo IP address" error testing multiplayer connection.

Yes, NAT type shows strict and testing the multiplayer connection yields this error: 'Can't get a Teredo IP address'

  5. Check to see if in your router there is an option for nat filter. If nat filter is checked, make sure it is unchecked as this will give you an open nat over your router.

Also unplugging you router, waiting 30 seconds, plugging your router, and then waiting another 30 seconds may fix the teredo ip error as this refreshes the upnp table.

  6. Edit: in netgear, for nat filtering it gives you the option for secured and open. Choose open.

why is microsoft so bad and over complicated, ?

Teredo is a networking protocol that’s used to establish secure communications between clients and servers, and to facilitate connectivity between devices behind routers that use network address translation (NAT).
Failure to obtain a Teredo IP address can occur when there’s an issue with your Teredo adapter, when a device on your network is blocking the Teredo protocol, or if there’s software installed on your PC that’s disabling Teredo functionality. Without a Teredo IP address, you’ll be unable to use party chat or do multiplayer gaming on Xbox Live
