was just curious to see if anyone had any clue to when i would go from a 3 year to a 4 if anyone has an idea please comment thanks.

 

When your total Gold time reaches four years. It really is that simple.

 

I recieve emails from xbox that tells me my monthly statements basically regarding achievements. On my email statement it tells me when i signed up for Xbox Live. But in your account it will let you know. It will say "Member since"

 

I've had Gold since February 2011 so have a Tenure of 4 years. I joined late 2010. Many people seem to struggle with up keeping with their Gold subscription when Microsoft charges a very fair and affordable price for 12 months membership which is cheaper
than getting 12 multiples of 1 month or 4 multiples of 3 month subscriptions. It's cheaper than even ONE months electricity or internet/phone bill for 12 month subscription. In New Zealand, 12 months costs NZ$79.95. During my 1st year, Xbox was doing a promotion
and I got 12 months for only NZ$48 instead of the full RRP NZ$79.95. In my 3rd year, I also renewed my 12 month Gold too for only NZ$48 as JB Hi Fi (NZ/Aussie retailer) was having a sell. I just renew it every February. Pay for it once a year, and that's it
and enjoy the fun. You can't Xbox Live Party Chat on Xbox 360 without Gold or Gold Trial. Multiplayer is a biggy too.

MS probably hired a psychologist to tell them that people have a strong need to belong to something, and if there is a rank to climb, it adds a very powerful component. Even if the top is a rather empty achievement, it means a LOT to some. Good job guys!

Bizarro, I think they would have hired that person way back when gamerscore was created.

Would people be half as interested in Achievements if they didn't have a numerical value attached to them? I doubt they'd be playing games like Avatar if there wasn't an easy 1000g to gain from them.

 

Well I've never cared about achievements and never will, but if it's important to some and it adds to the fun, then good.

Well my 9 or 10 year stint with gold will be ending in a few months because there really isn't a need for me to keep it going. I guess I'll be going back to noobieland.

I know people who were passing out cigars and lollipops everywhere and couldn't shut up when their kids were born. Those same people wouldn't do that every time they renewed their
XBL sub. However, they might say something like 'Oh yeah, I've been a proud member since...' if the subject was brought up.

It isn't a toggle switch, where you either are or are not. Seems like there are a lot of subjects that people want to apply that mentality to though.

 

On this gamertag, I've been 6 years on the service. Mix in another that I no longer use, and that makes 7.

 

12 years, but I've loved every minute of it, so in my opinion, money well spent !

I have had my Xbox 360 ever since it was launched and I have only been on-line for a little over 3 years now LOL

I consider the price for the Gold Membership as a maintenance fee for Xbox Live

I have never ever downloaded any of the free games that came with the Gold membership and this isn't going to change in the future.
