Tenure Reset Issue

My tenure was reset. I am not sure if this happened today or if this happened within the past two years (I haven't had a Xbox for some time). Here is what I have done today before noticing my tenure

1) Setup my new xbox

2) Gamertag changed (from Nesbisquick --> )

3) Added 12M Prepaid Xbox Live Gold

I have had my account since Nov 17 2004 (creation date). The earliest Live gameplay I can find is Nov 19 2004 (Halo 2 Online). I have had an active subscription for at least 8 of these 10 years.

Xbox Live Tenure Reset

This is a current glitch, no explination as of yet but Xbox are looking in to the issue, it may have something to do with the current beta program.

If your time lapses on your Live service then your tenure will start back from zero again.

 

While what you are saying is partially true, it is not the whole truth.

If the Xbox Live Gold falls off the account, the tenure goes on pause. While in this state, it is reset to zero. If Xbox Live Gold is reinstated on the account, the tenure goes back to play. While in this state, it will recalculate and show up again from
where it left off.

This is where my problem comes in, my tenure isn't coming back. I have had Xbox Live since 2004, 8 of those years has been active (play mode) tenure while 2 of those years have been inactive (pause mode). These are rough estimations but I would like to
know when my tenure is going to come back if ever?

 

You only have a certain amount of time to renew your subscription again after it lapses. After it lapses a lot of time has passed it will start back at zero

 

Where are you getting this information, I find it very hard to believe that what you say is indeed factual. I have gone inactive before for extended periods of time and not had it reset. Can you link me actual proof to back your statement? Everything official
I have read does not mention anything about being reset if you fail to upgrade to Gold within a certain amount of time.

 

I haven't bought gold for about 10 months and my tenure is also reseted. Doesn't bother me, as I can only see it if I go to my profile.

 

The way I understand it to work, when your account drops to Silver (for any amount of time) the tenure is displayed as 0. When you climb back up to Gold the tenure is recalculated (over a period of time that doesn't seem to be uniform). Once this process
is done, your tenure will properly show on your account.

My trouble is, it has been 4+ days now of me being a Gold member and still no tenure. Now 4 days isn't a long time but the real problem is the fact that I can't get a solid answer. Seems to me that nobody really knows what is going on (well nobody that I
have spoken to), it is all conjecture at this point.

I am still waiting for someone who actually knows what is going on because I have been a member of Xbox Live for 9 years 11 months. It would sadden me to lose my "achievement" (ie. tenure).

 

Mine is missing too. Would love to see it fixed.

 

Hey there, jimbo91375! I'm very sorry to see that your tenure has reset! As stated above, once your account goes to a Free account, your tenure is temporarily put on hold. Once you purchase Gold again, it can take a full billing cycle before it refreshes.
