Temporary xbox live ban

Hello,

Our family xbox live account was banned on the 15th November. We believe [it] is now un-banned.

However, after a long live-chat with one of your colleagues I was advised to post here.

We believe this was something to do with our young son. We are very keen to know which console/ which game was involved - this will enable us to have a chat with him about this issue and to make sure he/ we don't fall foul of the rules going forward.

Your colleague mentioned that you would be able to provide all (or most) of this information in order for us to fully understand what happened.

It's not a permenant ban but those that have received a retail console early and connected it to the net have had it banned.

The enforcement team does not use the forums. For any information about the suspension, you would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com. The enforcement team does not give specifics.

So, you are found guilty of a crime, sentenced, sent to prison (banned) without even knowing what the "crime" was or when it supposedly happened?

This does sound a little Kim Jon Un 'ish.

"For any information about the suspension, you would need to go to http://enforcement.xbox.com. The enforcement team does not give specifics." So what would be the point of visiting that link - if they won't give specifics? Just curious, ,but I would like
to be able to say to my son, "the account was blocked because of XYZ ", rather than say, "the account was banned because, errm, MSFT decided that you may (or may not) have actually done anything wrong. And yes they did still take your pocket money without
providing the service".

Does this make any sense? or am I just wasting everyone's time?

Please do let me know if there is somebody I can speak to as this is really important to me . I want to be able to explain to my son where he went wrong or what he did. He's 11 years old so the ban stating "cheating" does some a touch unlikely!!

Maybe you don't have Xbox live gold, or you're with a temporary ban

When you launch your console and you get the message that your console was banned, did it say it was temporary (expires on a date in a few weeks) or permanent (expires 31 December 9999, for instance)?

Xbox 360 console bans were permanent and non-negotiable. Xbox One bans can be either temporary or permanent, and are issued in cases of significant violations of the Xbox Live Code of Conduct and/or Microsoft Services Agreement.
