Temporary Blank Screen (but still functions)

When you start the Xbox One console, you expect to see the green Xbox startup animation screen. During the startup animation, your console runs a full system check on all hardware components, validating the firmware and the operating system. This is
very similar to the way a PC starts. The startup animation screen can take several minutes before transitioning to the next screen. If the system check fails to run the startup animation three times in a row, the console is flagged by the system as “do not
run.” This will block the startup animation from running, and in its place you'll see a black screen.

You've tried factory resets, a different TV, and different HDMI cables so the issue is with the console hardware, firmware, or software. The only other option you haven't tried is an

offline system update. Click on the link and follow the troubleshooter to complete the offline system update.

If the issue continues after an OSU, then you will need to send the console in for repair again.

• Power cycle the Xbox
• Plug the console directly into an outlet (no extension cord or surge protector)
• Try a different TV - for troubleshooting purposes (this will help isolate the issue between the console or TV)
• Try a different HDMI
• Troubleshooting a blank TV screen or monitor while your Xbox One is on

If none of these solutions resolved the problem, your console may need to be serviced or you may need to contact the TV manufacturer for more troubleshooting assistance.

I've done a hard, soft, and even complete factory reset more than a few times. It just got back from a service as well. These often fix the blank screen in that next startup moment - but then it inevitably happens again. Again, this is easily solved by going
into any other app on the tv then back into hdmi mode- but I'm wondering if there is a more permanent fix so I dont have to do this every time.

Its been this way for a year, since I've had it.

I should reiterate that I do believe the start up animation/system check is running, just that I can't see it during this stage - generally by the time I have switched from the hdmi channel to an app/tv and back again, then the green screen is there (almost
finished loading) or if I'm slower, it is already past this stage and on the normal home screen already.
