Temporary ban

I received an email this morning telling me that I have received a ban due to my communications. The only thing i can think it maybe is due to my communication to scumbags sending me spam messages trying to scam me into going to such and such website to
win a brand new iPad. I receive these spams often and blocking and reporting is pointless since they just go create a new account within 5 minutes they are back sending spam. If this is fair dinkum the reason for my ban then i think you may have your priorities
backwards. Punish the loyal paying members and protect the spamming scammers? This nonsense needs to be sorted out right away.

hello just posting in concern that my Xbox account has been temporarily banned for no reason I just wanted to lay some Xbox and my account is banned just wanting to know why thanks

Yeah, that junk is getting old. How do they get away with mass messaging so many people that aren't on their friend lists? There should be an easy to prevent these spammers at the source.

 

You can stop any spam messages by simply setting your communication settings to "Friends only".

 

We shouldn't have to do that. MS shouldn't be letting random *** send out mass messages to people that aren't on their lists. Why the hell should I cut myself off from everyone because MS is too lazy to simply put in some anti-spam functions!?

 

Yes. That would be an ideal outcome, but how do you propose they do that? Social media, comment sections, forums, messaging services all rely on the people who receive these messages to report and block the sender. Do you
want Microsoft to read every single one of the messages you send and receive, just in case someone says something hurtful towards you? Do you want Microsoft to listen in to every conversation you have over Live, no matter how private and personal your conversation
is? Because, that is the only way they will be able to see these messages without you reporting them.

 

Dude, you're not listening. These spammers are mass messaging people that are NOT on their friends list. Block that. Either stop multiple messaging entirely or stop multiple messaging to anyone that's not on your friends list. It's that simple. All that
feature is ever used for is spamming.

 

Oh, and put in a simple flood protection so you can't send more than 3 text messages per minute (or something like that) on XBL. simple
