Telltale's Next Game: Minecraft?

Yep, that's right, the wonderful development team behind The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and other games are now creating a new game based on the ever popular Minecraft franchise and calling it "Story Mode."

Most video games based on TV shows are horrible (Lost, CSI, etc.) - Telltale's games so far, are the rare exception to the rule.

Well, right now they're having a Telltale's Minecraft Story Mode panel.

 

if you want to know my honest reaction, its meh and a head scratch.

MS allowing and publishing it's IP on a key competing console is bizzare , yes there is money to be made, but the same could be said for Nintendo putting its Ip's on xbox, there is just somethings you shouldn't do for various reasons that are much too complex
to explain here on xbox.com lol.

MS should be building a list first a foremost on its platform, regaurdless of backlash. im sorry if my post ruins your thread, its my honest opinion.

And as for the editions of minecraft not under Ms's or pc branches. they should be delisted and all support be ceased.

The only way it makes sense to not do this, is Ms is thinking past Xbox here, and is dabbing into putting their IP on other closed competting ecosystems, a worrying possiblitly, if you buy xbox products for exclusives anyhow.

 

I'm not too concerned about MS allowing the franchise to continue on other platforms - it allows for them to continue making money off of one of video games biggest hits and allows for more consumers to experience the wonderful things it has to offer.

There are a number of books (fiction) based in the Minecraft universe so the story may be based on one of them. Some of them are even series so I assume someone's reading them.

 

I personally would of preferred the story to be implemented into the core game as maybe a DLC or expansion. Though I will of course give it a go and see at the time. I don't think it needed a story but that's just my 2 pennies.

 

it's unnecessary but from a business perspective, Telltale is cashing in. i personally have grown tired of their style of game .. and i say game loosely because they're really just interactive trailers really. there's very little "game" in the games.

i loved TWD and WAU but enough is enough. especially with this news. enough is enough.

Hello everyone

It sounds like a good idea to throw a story into a popular game. When horses came out, me and my friends had a big woo. Horses, mules, ponys, fireworks, bats, witches, beacons, new blocks, and... Adventure Mode (which I haven't gotten around to trying on
any of my 360 worlds). There was a Minecraft article in a major NZ newspaper which toke up a WHOLE newspaper add "minecraft is popular in NZ".

One thing I have noticed is a glitch in the Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 versions is whenever they released the horses update, all your tamed dogs a whining and have low health. When you try to heal them instead of saying Heal, it says Love Mode. Maybe some kind
of coding bug which occurred when the Update came out.
