Telling me to purchase a game I brought as a gift.

I brought it from the Microsoft store on my Xbox X as a gift.

Hello I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the game 3 times and tried what you said quite a few times, it syncs at the start up of Cold War but then still says purchase. How do I go about a refund and I will just download on his console.

If you purchased the game as a gift and your son already redeemed the gift card, unfortunately you will not be able to refund it.

"Important: You must request a refund for an unredeemed code within 14 days of making the purchase. If the code has been redeemed, we’re unable to process a refund, even if it’s within 14 days of purchase."

If you want, you could try to remove and add your son's account to the console again.

I understand your frustration. If you want, you could try to remove and add your son's account to the console:

Remove Account:

1. Press the Xbox button. ​​​

2. Select System > Settings > Account > Remove accounts. ​​​

3. Select the account that you want to remove, and then Remove. ​​​

4. Close. ​​​

Power Reset:

1​​. Turn off your console and your router/modem.

2. Unplug all the cables from both devices (power, HDMI, etc..) and wait 2 minutes.

3. After 2 minutes, plug all the cables in again on your router/modem and wait for all the lights to show up.

Add Account:

1. Press the Xbox button.

2. Select Profile & System > Add or switch > Add new.

3. Enter the email address and password for the Microsoft account that you want to add.

4. Read the Microsoft Service Agreement and Privacy Statement, and select I Accept.

5. Follow the steps to configure your Sign-In & Security preferences.

If the issue persists, would you please confirm the gift card was redeemed correctly on your son's account? It should show "Redeemed" on his Microsoft account order history page:

So basically it seems I’ve purchased a game that can’t be used and cost me £30. I’ve done everything possible. I don’t mean to sound frustrated but I did nothing wrong other than purchased a game that doesn’t want to work and now my sons is upset as it seems I will most likely have to wait till next week to buy a game twice.
