television doesn't 'see' that my xbox is plugged in, even though it used to work ...

    Hi all,

since yesterday my television doesn't recognize that my xbox 360 is plugged in even though it worked just fine two days ago, I've tried the following things:

    - changed the cables (HDMI cable) - Didn't work

    - tried the HDMI cable on my ps3, and it worked fine. - so it's not the HDMI cable

    - tried my ps3 on the television it worked fine - so it's not the television, also because my xbox used to work perfectly on my television.

    - tried my xbox on a different television - didn't work either, so again it turns on fine and on the xbox itsself everything looks fine, but the TV doesn't 'see' that the xbox is plugged in.

    - tried normal cables (so no HDMI) on two different televisions - Didn't work.

I feel like i've tried everything and i have no clue what the problem is.

could anybody please help with suggestions on what to do, or what the problem is?

    Help would be really appreciated!

    :)

  2. Xbox Blu ray player still out of sync

I have tried switching. It's a sound bar plugged into the TV with an optical cable. The Xbox is connected to the television through HDMI. I've tried everything. It works sometimes and other times it doesn't.

Keep in mind that other devices work fine. This is exclusive to the blu ray player app on the Xbox one.

  3. Bizzare HDMI connection problem: The case of the phantom component

So, here's a weird one for you.

I recently purchased an HDMI cable, which works just fine connecting my Samsung UN26EH4000 television to my laptop. I couldn't get it to work with my Xbox 360 (4GB); my television told me it was receiving no source signal. I read on the forums that this
problem can be resolved by changing display settings on the Xbox. So, being clever, I decided to leave my HDMI plugged in, and then in order to navigate to the display settings, try to hold plugged into the Xbox the component cable that I had used previously.
I navigated to the HD display settings, chose 720p, and everything looked fine. What I didn't realize was that I had forgotten to plug the component cord back into my tv.

But suddenly, I have picture. Not just component picture, but HD picture (and sound). Yes, that's right: my HDMI cable only works (and works beautifully)
while the male end of the Xbox component cord is in some way touching the female end on the console.
It doesn't quite plug in, thanks to the weird plastic dohicky tail thing hanging off the bottom of the component cord, but it doesn't even have to be all the way in.

I don't know a lot about electronics, but that doesn't seem right. Or to even make sense, honestly.

I much appreciate any and all help.

    Hi there,

it seems you already tried most steps mentioned on this link:
    support.xbox.com/.../tv-or-monitor-screen-is-blank-while-connected

But please also try the Reset of the display settings mentioned on that link to see if that helps and double check if all other solutions were tried.

If none of them helped the only solution left is to request a repair for the console like mentioned on that same link

Changed HD settings now when I plug in HDMI The screen is black.

Have you used the cord on another HD Device to ensure the cord is working properly? If the cord is new or is working correctly, the problem may be in which HDMI port for your XBOX you are using on your television. The XBOX will connect to slots HDMI 1 and
2 on my Television but if I plug it into HDMI 3, it will not read the input. Try plugging it into a different port and see if it works.

    Suddenly has "Network" connecting issues.

It seems as though even though the ethernet cord is plugged into both laptop and Xbox 360, it doesn't show that the 360 is plugged in on my laptop connections.
