Tekken Tag 2 being free

So my whole point for this post is as such. Watching the conference and the announcement of Tekken 7 got me interested especially when they announced that Tekken Tag 2 was going to be free after the Xbox conference was done. Now I don't understand why I
can't just download the game from the dashboard store and have to come on to the website to do so but what I equally don't understand is why the game is labeled as free yet it still requires a dumb credit card as a legit payment option. I remember a few months
ago I dowloaded a games with gold thing from the site with no problem but since then it's been giving me absolute utter crap about valid payment options on free games.

Why is this even a thing, it really boggles my mind. I don't have a credit card though I probably should at my age but I don't intend to nor should I have to use one to download something free. Another point I had a problem with was when Black Ops 1 became
available, I bought currency but forgot I needed to buy it from the site and what does it do, tells me to get proper payment via credit card even though I had xbox currency but that for some reason doesn't count as a legit source.

This whole games with gold thing is crap if you can't make a proper system to let people download your games. Truthfully even if I did have a credit card I would never trust Microsoft with it and would never use it for the site. This is dumb on so many
levels and I'm sorry for posting a whiny rant but you gotta fix your stuff Microsoft. Maybe get smart and add a "download for free" option in the change payment option area when certain games become free or whatever. Anyways I don't expect many nice replies
but either way I'll still say thanks and I appreciate any help given.

Personally love Tekken Tag Tournament, though Tekken 2 and Soulblade, I believe it was called, were both good fun.

Very much enjoy Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but the original was a classic.

 

^^ You're probably safer using your credit card on the console or this website than most other sites out there.

Actually yes Vampirella, despite my needlessly long whiny rant I was going for that point in mind. I just don't quite understand why there isn't a regular download option when something is given to be free. I mean there's a regular option for the Xbox One
games yet the 360 and backwards comp games require a credit card, why is that. Why make a feature that everyone requested and adored when announced last year so difficult to use.
