    tech: xbox one power faceplate malfunctioning


    So here's the deets looking for any ideas.

    -Got water on the front of my xbox.

    -Xbox functions properly with original Rf board unattached from original ribbon on faceplate.

    Xbox slim power button and disk button doesn't work.

    Your Faceplate is either unplugged or malfunctioning.

    xbox one faceplate

    My crazy soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend decided to throw a fit and throw my xbox one across the room, the faceplate and one of the side plates fell off, i got the faceplate back on but now the power button and eject button dont work, how do i pull the faceplate
    back off without damaging it?

    Perhaps I will be proved wrong but I suspect you will not get the help you want as this is the official Xbox Forum.

    DIY repairs are frowned upon in these parts, if you had any warranty left its gone now and Microsoft will not repair consoles that have been tampered with.

    My best advice would be to buy a new console.

    You should have contacted MS to see if they could have repaired it.

    Now you might as well pick up the x1s.

    Power Button will not work.

    You can turn it on with the eject button. Or, remove the faceplate of your console, as stated here.

    support.xbox.com/.../faceplate     Then where the middle of the power button was there is a hole. Poke a thin, non conducting stick into it and your xbox might turn on. To turn it off just unplug the cord.
