    TDS: Can’t connect to dhcp


    Hello MindRiot,

    Thank you for keeping us updated. Are you using an apple router along with your TDS 3200 gateway? We recommend changing the primary and secondary DNS settings on the console. We will provide steps on how to complete this process. Be sure to let us know the
    results!

    1. Press the Xbox button on the controller to pull up the guide
    2. Select Settings
    3. Select Network
    4. Select Network Settings
    5. Select Advanced Settings
    6. Select DNS Settings
    7. Select Manual
    8. Enter 8.8.8.8 in the Primary IPv4 DNS
    9. Enter 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary IPv4 DNS

    Sorry to hear you're having network issues.

    Have you tried the Xbox Network Test ?

    TDS: Can’t connect to dhcp

    Ok that worked until this morming, i was offline and when i ran the check network it said cant connect to the ip address. So i reset the mac to auto and it came back cant get dhcp. So something is wrong somewhere. I tried hard restart on the xbox and it
    didnt work. I power cycled the gateway and it worked.

    So frustrating, everyday day or two having to reset stuff to work.

    Hey MindRiot,

    Came across your post and having the same issue. Got past DHCP, but now intermittently can't login. xBox is getting an IP from DHCP fine but fails network test.

    works on every other network device, was starting to wonder if the xbox is faulty.

    Try the MAC address reset on the xbox for the DHCP problem.

    also following the port forwarding guide to assist with the network test timeout (i don't allow upnp on my networks)

    Can't connect to XBOX live. Xbox doesn't get IP-address

    To bad. Started the XBOX today and again no IP-adress. I still think it has something to do with the last update. In the router log I can see it assigns an IP adres and sents an ACK to the XBOX however the XBOX's keeps requesting for anIP:

    I assume you mean the "TDS Actiontec T3200" Router?

    Can you check in the advanced settings of your T3200 Router, if Bridging Mode is enabled (which it should not)?

    Yes thats the one, i tried bridgimg on port one but that broke it immediatley so i put it back to factory reset.

    Fyi tds is usless in this area, the only thing they would do is replace the modem/router and cable box. They wouldnt even help me diagnose it

    Well i assigned a ip to the box in network settings and on the router. I disnt pay for a static ip address because tds only foes static for business accounts.
