Taxes on digital games

Hi, I was just wondering if I could receive a coverage on the tax in Rewards points for the Fortnite starter pack. I just spoke with xbox support to clear up a question about taxes when buying digital games with a gift card. They referred me here to ask
about the tax coverage.

Do US gamers pay additional tax that is included on demand xbox 360 games?

-Hi All

- When US gamers buy a game on demand on xbox live are you charged additional tax on top of the digital price or is the sales tax already included in the digital price?

- Are US gamers charged extra for digital downloads at all?

Digital game taxes

So a couple days ago rainbow six siege a game that I have wanted but didn't have money for went on sale for $20 and I was so excited cause I have $20 on my account but because of taxes I couldn't get. I decided then to see how much taxes were, they're about
$2 which made me mad because now I have to wait till it goes on sale cheaper or I get more money I'm not going to put my credit card in because I have never trusted putting my credit card on online things.

@hairy the only tax on digital here is a made up one. There are no import or tariffs on digital. This is why Australians get **** with digital pricing.

the reason you got charged 4.00 reais more is there's sales tax on digital games. depending on where you live there you can be charged more or less sales tax.

Rippen, there is Tax on digital purchases, depending on the tax in your country or state, or digital downloads would be the equivilent amount cheaper than physical, like in the UK, tax is 20%, but digital is still more expensive than physical, or exactly
the same RRP. It is still a new purchase, and the countries want their money from it.

And as already stated, all digital games will be available on release day, in fact you can already pre/order games for the xbox 360 and ps3 on their respective online stores, and download it on the day, but as of now, No one knows if you get any bonus content

You don't have enough money because of the tax. There is still tax that is charged for buying digital games and content. It should also tell you the total before you confirm purchase.
