Yeah, in USA tax I'd added after the list price. In the UK, tax has to be included in the list price.

  3. how come we dont get a free game too?

    lol @ Eggnogga

£429.00 includes VAT in America the tax is different in different states. What's the difference in price when tax is included?

Why is my pre order pending?

No. All games include tax that is included in the £69.99 in this case never have I been charged more than the price of the game because of tax. I don't understand this response. When looking at billing. It would be something like £59 game and £11 tax for example that equals the total amount for the game as advertised so this isn't helpful

Why did they nerf the points system?

You arent being double taxed lol I dont know where you are getting that from

you arent taxed on prepaid cards or gift cards

you are given a certain amount of currency relative to your ms points

you are only taxed on the purchase of the dlc as per the law

gift cards have always been exempt

however if you are purchasing something worth 1400nms pointsand thats what you will be charged as ms points already include the taxing then thats all you get chargred

ms points values already include the tax

its only on direct purchases that you see the breakdown of how you are taxed

Who came up with the Points pricing scheme?

"actually you do pay taxes on ms points its not shown on your transaction because its on the backend it is included in the pricing of the points"

    No, it isn't. Source:
    gaming.stackexchange.com/.../do-microsoft-points-bought-directly-from-xbox-live-include-tax

"4000 points list for $49.99, and my most recent purchase, in March 2011, was billed for $53.49 (Indiana, where I live, currently has a state tax rate of 7%)."

I was only charged $4.99 per package for each of my 400 point purchases, so state sales tax is not being applied in my case, or I would have been charged $5.34 (my state also has a 7% tax rate). But again, the tax is irrelevant because that's a constant
percentage of the purchase price. Even if you remove the 7% extra I'm supposedly being charged for taxes, the cost comes to $18.68 for 1600 points and $18.64 for four 400 points packages.

Retailers have nothing to do with this, I have no idea why you've brought them up. I'm talking only about buying directly from Microsoft through either my 360 or the xbox.com site. Retailers actually have it right, though, since I typically see 400 points
for $5 and 1600 points for $20 unless they're having some sort of sale. But since I'm purchasing from a physical store instead of online, state sales tax is then applied.

    My question still stands.

£320 + 20% VAT = £384 bear in mind that the US price already includes sales tax, so you need to work out what the US price is before tax then calculate the VAT on that figure to see how much the UK is being over charged
