    Taskbar issues


    An issues popped up today (as far as i am aware) with alt tabbing in a Borderless Windowed mode game. When alt tabbing i cannot access the task bar which would allow me to look at the time/open a browser properly. I have been able to before and this is very frustrating i have tried the restart of windows explorer.

    I have included screenshots the one on the left is with it fullscreen and one on the right is borderless windowed and the game is intractable even when "alt tabbed"

    I have been able to do this before and some games i have i cannot full screen it. Again i just experienced this today. I have been able to find no solution a few i found they disabled nvidia overlay but have had it disabled for a while now.

    I understand that you are experiencing issues with Taskbar.

    I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

    Please disable NVIDIA overlay even if you've already disabled it. Toggle it off and on again in GeForce Experience go to Settings > General > In-Game Overlay.

    And then check Taskbar settings. To do this, right-click the taskbar and go to Taskbar Settings. Make sure that "Automatically hide" the taskbar in desktop mode is disabled.

    Next is to Alt-Tabbing twice it has been found out that pressing Alt + Tab twice or hitting the Windows key helped bring the taskbar back.

    Then run system file checker & DISM. Open Command Prompt as administrator and run:

    sfc /scannow

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Restart your PC after running these commands

    This happens while running the gane i. Full screen mode or windowed mode?

    Is your taskbar position at the top of the screen instead of the bottom?

    Have you set the taskbar to hide?

    Can you try the following steps below, which should help with this problem your facing:

    1. Press your Windows key + I together to open your settings.

    2. Next, click Personalization and select Taskbar.

    3. On the left pane, click Task Bar choose the options “Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode” and “automatically hide the taskbar in tablet mode”. Make sure they're turned on.

    4. Close the tab and see if the issue is fixed.

    You can do it by the start menu or by your taskbar (after pinning it to the taskbar). Just click on the Xbox app while holding Ctrl + Shift and it will start in admin mode. If the issue persists, please let me know the error code by clicking at "See error details".

    - Click on Personalization.

    - Click the Taskbar page on the right side.

    - Click the Taskbar behavior setting.

    - Check the Automatically hide the Taskbar option.
