TANK LOADOUTS

What are you all using? I prefer to roll around in a MBT for conquest and cap as many flags as possible and take out any vehicles I see in the process. Unfortunately I am usually playing with randoms which means I rarely have a gunner and need to be able
to deal with infantry myself. I like the AP shell because it is effective against armor or infantry, but have also been trying out the Sabot shell for longer vehicle engagements and taking down choppers. But with no explosive splash damage I am finding the
Sabot shell is pretty useless against infantry.

I just started using the staff shell and found that it works well against vehicles, but isn't quite as effective as the canister shell against infantry. I'm still trying to get the hang of automatic protection defensive upgrade, but haven't made up my mind
yet if it is better than reactive armor.

I'm curious about what all of you other tank drivers are using for a good balance to fight armor and infantry. I hate not having the proximity scan, especially with 2 classes running around with C4 now. I find myself trying to keep moving and switching
to 3rd person a lot to catch those sneaky snipers running around with C4...

Is the online game play really that bad??

Yeah, the loadouts is the only problem I have. It's a bit of a pain when your loadout reset's and you go into "locked" equipped with a Stinger and Tank mines.

its not a leak it was in the beta as well. it looks pretty sweet. it is the driver who determines the color/camo via the loadout/setup.
it was quite easy to see on the tanks and big helicopters. the camo also is avail for the guns as well.

i think the loadouts/battlepacks were highly over looked in the beta which is sad.. the more battlepacks you unlocked the more you could get as far as guns,attachments and ability to alter loadouts. what i didn't like was in te beta you had to be in game to alter loadouts for the class/vehicle this is where your death/respawn time was used. iirc you will be able to do this on tablet away from the console and have it ready to go for in game use.

i will say the blue camo on the tank looks kick @$$ when walking up to it.

 

AP, Staff, Active protection, Zoom, Reactive Armor

 

I cant find any tanks in TDM, but Im still looking.

Is that the HMG or LMG? I never really liked the HMG. Since I normally don't have a gunner I end up jumping into the gunner seat quite a bit if I think I can safely sit still for a few seconds, so I haven't used the coax MGs much.

The canister shell is fun against infantry. I had a nice double kill when two guys were just standing inside a building and must have thought I couldn't see them. They were standing side by side, so I just aimed in the middle and down they went. But I
tend to lose most tank battles when I can't switch between two anti-armor weapons, so I don't run the canister shell very often.

I need give the HE shell another try. It seems like it should work as good or better than the AP shell against infantry and deal a little more damage in short range tank battles.

 

I normally use the HMG/gunnerzoom aswell for infantry.HE Shell for tanks,but I find its not so important when it comes to tankbattles what Shell youre using as getting the jump on youre enemy,and the element of surprize.You want to get around them,and come
up from behind.That will give you the upperhand far better than any Shell can attacking head on.Same goes for light infantry wehicles.I prefere Zuni-missles for those.Zuni-missles are great for groundtroopes,and also in close quarters wehicle to wehicle.

Anyway with all the antitank personel out there,and all the mines,slams,and C4,im not so sure I prefere to be in a wehicle,especially all the time it takes to run a tank from the spawn into battle only to be running over a mine,or getting a cruisemissle
up the but.It almost doesent seem worth it

 

a good tanker would have two load outs one for solo and another with a gunner.

most of the time expect a gunner, but sometimes i like to run solo

what load out do i use... i'll have to look.

but i went back to using guided, it works great on any ground vehicle but it sucks for air unless they are not moving.

if you really want to know a good loadout for a top tanker then look at the leaderboards on battlelog.
