    If you have any phone earbuds laying around they should also work, as long as the controller has the 3.5mm jack, just keep in mind that they will need to have an in built microphone.

    Also the laptop mic may not be the best quality either

    yes, open gamebar and join your friends party and use the inbuilt mic on the laptop.

    Could be your NAT. NFS hot pursuit had some issues to where you could hear others but they couldn't here you.
