T_T Xbox 360 Slim 4g Red Dot Of DEATH!

I bought my Xbox 360 slim back in June 2012, I never really played it.The last time I played it, it was working just fine. It's been setting it the box it came in for over a year.

So yesterday I bought some new games and pull it out the box, plug it up and BOOM it doesn't turn on nothing on the TV. When I turn it on it starts off green fan kicks in and then almost immediate flashes red after that in the middle then turns off. Now I don't
understand how a like new Xbox will fail just like that. This is beyond ridiculous, I'm speechless now i'm down 300 and have to play 79$ dollars to repair something that was defective to begin with. Please I've already did all the recommended
troubleshooting on the Xbox support page, So i don't need any redirecting to that page. I need some helpful advice, Thank You~

There is no official 120gb hard drive for the Slim 4g model Xbox. You have purchased an unauthorized piece of 3rd party hardware. So that could be part of your most recent problems. Also, the Slim Xbox does not get the Red Ring of Death but rather the
Red Dot. If you are seeing something other than the red dot you may wish to check here

One last thing, if you take the hard drive out will the red lights go away?

The Slim 4G does-not come with a Internal HDD so I can't pull anything out in that space its empty.

 

hello, try this:

If your Xbox 360 console has four flashing red lights, (or a red dot) you might have a problem with your A/V cable. The A/V cable connects your console to your television. A faulty connection or cable can interrupt your experience.

Let's check your A/V cable connection

Turn your console and television off.

Disconnect the cable from the A/V port on your console.

Unplug the A/V connectors from your television.

Reconnect the cable to the A/V port on your console.

Note The A/V cable will meet some resistance before it is completely connected. Make sure that the cable is fully inserted.

Plug in the A/V connectors to your television. The A/V connectors match the colors of the component video, the composite video, and audio ports on your television.

Turn your television and console back on.

if that did not work try a different AV cord

if that does not work try it on a different tv

if that dont work after that then you need to send in your xbox here:
support.xbox.com/.../repair-process

then follow the steps

Hello RitzyBiscuit7 Thanks so much for replaying~

I'm using the HDMI cable, I've never even open the little baggie to use the A/V connectors . It has always been plug up with the HDMI cable. I tried it on a different (newer) TV and still the same thing. Even changed the HDMI cable something.

 

Also its not 4 red lights, Its one red light in the middle of the power on button. (Looks like an eye) It starts green then turns red and shuts off by it self with in seconds of hitting the start button too .

ok did you try to remove all controllers and USB's etc. and wifi adapter, kinect? if you did and well in the first help try to remove the AV/ HDMI cord, well you will need to send it in

 

the red dot works as 4 lights

 

Yep, I did all that only thing I haven't done was too throw it out the window U.U

I don't think its the cable(s), I mean the Xbox doesn't even stay on long enough to read/boot anything. It's almost like its in an idle mode. It shuts off so fast with and without the cable plug into the TV.

 

Broke down and sent my xbox in for repair. No longer need help. U.U
