    System won't stop recording clips

Oh look here we go again with the power down miracle fix, This issue came about after the April update from nov until April it was fine then as I have stated before the option changed and auto DVR could no longer be turned off, so as if power downing the
console can fix this. Is it really so hard for people to understand. Good look OP with getting anyone to deal with this.

@bigbenx88 " The system is not "running wildly out of control on every game" recording clips all willy-nilly. " No, that's EXACTLY what it is doing. THAT is exactly the problem that is happening. So, no, I can't be wrong about something happening
    right in my face.

@Mister Quimby, thank you, all I've been waiting on this entire time is an official response of any sort. I will give you all information possible. If you need anything else I will be happy to provide it.

Preview Program: No, I have not used this in my entire history for either the Xbox 360 or Xbox One.

Known Affected Games for me: Ryse, Forza 5, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed IV, Lego Marvel, Killer Instinct.

Known Unaffected Games for me: Amazing Spider-Man 2, Lego The Hobbit, Strike Suit Zero.

None of the last three games have exhibited this behavior yet and I do have other games that I have not played since the update due to not having time. Spider-Man 2 is the only one of those that I have played heavily while Strike Suit Zero was completed
on the 14th of April. I do not remember if this was before or after patch day so I'm not sure whether or not it is genuinely unaffected.

Someone else who uses the same (shared) system has also said any games they play on it have this unavoidable behavior exhibited but they did not keep track of everything or play the same games as I do. I know first hand that Ryse, Killer Instinct, and Lego
Marvel are also afflicted by this for them. I can't offer any other useful information regarding their account besides the fact that it isn't solely my GamerTag that is affected on the same system. As for trying another system, I do not in any way have access
to a second Xbox One. It's a new system, it's expensive, and I just don't have a need for two so I can't see how I can try that. System won't stop recording clips :(

The only games not started before the update were Lego The Hobbit, Spider-Man 2, and possibly Strike Suit Zero. This applies to both mine and my friend's accounts. No games had these or any other apparent issues before the update.

@LegendaryCurse I appreciate the suggestion but as said by others that does nothing to resolve this particular issue. The big issue here is that the option to turn off the Game DVR is completely gone now. I still don't know if this was even intentional as
part of the update or if this is some kind of mistake. Nor do I know why.

@IceJaiden I know how you feel, and I'm glad someone else completely understands. Hopefully some progress can be made now.

I think you're not understanding Ehzno so I'll explain. The system doesn't just randomly do things. If it's set to record things automatically for EVERY major milestone then it's going to record it for EVERY milestone, not just pick and choose which games
it wants to do it for. It's an all or nothing thing. It's a programmed piece of hardware, not a tempermental person that has the ability to choose. So again I want to explain that it's not the system or it's settings you're having an issue with, unless
you didn't turn off the feature correctly, it's the games that are programmed to record those milestones.

From the list you stated above I can definitely tell you it's the games from some of them, a couple of them I am not sure what's going on because I own those same ones and have the systems auto feature turned off and I don't have an issue with them. Just
    like Districtopia confirmed.

I'm glad that the squeaky wheel is getting it's grease in this case and an official has reached out. I hope they have more info for you and I'll bow out of the conversation.

    System won't stop recording clips

No, I understand you fine. I don't think you're understanding what I'm saying. The system itself had the option to turn the Game DVR off, that was a system option. That option worked and disabled all unwanted recordings; they weren't ALWAYS on or recording
EVERYTHING. The games themselves were not part of the equation.

Now, that system option is gone, and every few seconds it comes up with a new 'Game Clip Recorded' message. It isn't a game message, it's a system message. Yes, some games have options for this behavior but some do not. However this remains a system issue
not just because it's affecting such a wide array of disparate games but because the system should dictate the overall behavior of its own feature. It DID do this and the option has inexplicably vanished which forces it on in spite of the fact that it was
    previously able to be turned off (and had this ability from launch). So, now, the system literally is recording completely out of the control of the user. Some of the clips are even just launching the game, navigating menus, not even anything involving game-play;
it is recording whatever it wants, out of control, 'willy nilly.'

You can say it's the game telling the system to record all day long, maybe so. I don't care about that, I care about the fact that it CAN'T be stopped. The pop-ups are ENDLESS regardless of what the user does and after twenty of them in five minutes it grows
extremely monotonous and distracting. I'd like to point out that this number is not an exaggeration either, it actually does this. A game shouldn't be dictating to the system how to behave, it should be the other way around. It WAS the other way around. That's
why I'm upset, that's why the others are upset and posted in much more colorful words than I have chosen; honestly I'm surprised some of the posts weren't deleted.

This is all still to say nothing of the fact that, as far as I have seen, these are all just phantom clips. I've checked every now and then and I haven't been able to see any of them actually recorded or saved anywhere. So, even if I wanted to be spammed
with all these clips, I wouldn't be able to access them for they seem to be entirely non-existent. Yet the notifications remain.

I would still like to know WHY this feature is now gone. Even if no one would tell me why, I'd at least like to know if its removal was even intentional because I can hardly believe that they wanted to take away from the user the ability to turn off the
Game DVR. I sincerely doubt Microsoft would intentionally force people to use it, that would be a terrible business practice and quite frankly I know they're not stupid. There is a reason behind this, and I sincerely want to know what that reason is.

I have to agree with SirEzhno here, i mostly play fifa 14 right now and i am getting at least 5/6 auto recording per match.

Back in December there was an option in the system menu to stop the DVR from auto recording clips although "Xbox Record that" still worked and this stopped any auto recording, however once the April update came i started getting the pop ups again and this
time i can't stop it from happening. Whenever i want to use upload studio it goes slowly because there is about 200 "temporary" fifa recordings in my clips. I say "temporary" because some of them are now a month old and im having to manually go and delete
every clip which is simply ridiculous.

Please Microsoft allow us the ability to stop games from auto recording and uploading clips onto Upload!

    xbox one clip

In-game voice chat is not captured on the Xbox DVR game clips - unless the game has a built in chat system that could make it record but it usually won't.

How to delete movies that are recorded downloaded?

Stop them from recording in the first place (in settings). Gets annoying with 100s of unwanted automatic clips being recorded every week. (ie.fifa clips).

    Stop Ryse Game DVR?

When on xbox one dashboard go to settings then preferences. Under System & App you'll see something saying "Record gameplay with Game DVR". Untick the box and this will stop the console from randomly recording clips all the time.
