    System won't stop recording clips

Unfortunately Microsoft are unlikely to change this anytime soon so the only thing we can do for now is to work around the update. Try what I put in my last post for BF4 see if this does make a difference or not, then we can move on to Fifa.

This has nothing to do with battlefield, or any game, it's ALL games. It refuses to disable clip recording because the option no longer exists since the last system update and thus floods notifications of recordings that were never asked for in the first
place. There is no 'work-around' discussed here or anywhere else that I can find.

This is something that is broken and requires a fix.

  3. This stupid clip recording is pissing me off so bad that I now hate my xbox one and wish I never bought it and jumped ship. You fools need to quit treating us like we are stupid and take you heads out of your butts and fix this or im trading this mess of
a console in. Why why why are you ppl so dense that you don't understand English? In fact how do you remain employed at Microsoft when your so ignorant about your product to us the customer. You should all be ashamed at this ongoing mess . Every update new
things quit working do you not even test this crap before you forse it on us? The PS4 is looking better everyday..

Makes me laugh that most support people suggest to power cycle the console as if it's a miracle solution to every issue. This problem came with the last update and it's driving me nuts no power cycling will fix this issue.

I completely agree. This isn't a low level issue, it was caused by a system update.

This isn't a matter of having to deselect an option related to DVR. The system is taking dozens of clips one after another after another as if the user had said "Xbox record that" even when they haven't. I have only noticed it while playing Kinect Sports
Rivals. In one wake race it can take up to 4-5 clips. It only started after the KSR game update a few weeks ago. But I see here others saying it's happening while playing Battlefield 4. So it has to be the system (although that itself is also odd because
there have only been two system updates since I purchased the XB1 and this problem began for me about halfway between the April and May update).

But that is exactly the problem. If the option to turn of the Game DVR still merely EXISTED then it wouldn't record anything on any game. The update before last just (I just got an update yesterday) removed that option from the settings entirely. Now, the
system just records whatever it wants on any game it wants completely at random.

And the absolute silence with which this issue is being treated is really infuriating and disgusting. I will check that the update I received yesterday may have changed this. I doubt it has, I'll post about it when I find out.

What's disgusting is how people think that when there is an issue like this that there is some magic fix button and someone snaps their fingers and things get done. Also how they think that MS sees every single post on here and thinks it's something that
should be fixed. And remember, ambassadors on here are volunteers who happen to be avid gamers like you, not MS employees, so try and be respectful.

The system is designed so that it is always recording the last 30 seconds of play. Always. It's just the way the system works and they're not going to change that. It has to be that way so when you reach a rare moment that you or someone else wants to
record something then they'll only have to say, "Xbox record that", and away it goes.

That being said, some game companies have taken advantage of that fact. EA being the most notorious of them. Almost every big play, every achievement, every rank up, etc. will prompt an auto record. This isn't the system making that choice, it's the programming
in the game itself taking advantage of what's already there.

Bottom line is, there is no easy fix here. For every person that whines about this feature, if they take it away then they'll have just as many people whining that it's gone. So what do you do? There is no situation in which MS wins here. The best they
can do is try and reprogram the app so it can ONLY be influenced by the voice command and not by the game command prompts. And that's something that's going to take time...if and when they decide they need to actually do it. The system has a lot of issues
now and this is the least of the issues that need to be addressed.

^What he said. That totally makes sense about some games doing it when an achievement or big play occurs because when KSR does it it's almost always after I use a supercharge. Never happens when I'm navigating the menu or anything. Never happens to me on
    Forza5 or Titanfall either.

Also, @sirezhno: I don't want to have to shut off DVR all together. I still want the option to say "XBOX record that" if something happens that I want a clip of. I just don't want it happening on its own every few seconds.

I'm honestly not sure that user bigbenx88 has read the thread, or at least not my posts. I never said anything was magic, I also never said I want an executive level response as seems to be suggested by the exaggerated and sarcastic tone in your post. However,
there ARE Microsoft staff that do read (and reply on) the support forums which, if I am not mistaken, is their job. The only thing I don't know is what their criteria for responding to a post is. I would have been satisfied for quite some time should one have
come in and simply stated that it was a 'known issue' but not even this has been offered. As stated before, there WAS an option to disable Game Clip recording and it WORKED. Then a system update removed the option entirely and even if you turn the Game DVR
completely off (as much as you can on the current UI) it will STILL flood you with recordings that were not asked for. This was not a 'request' by users, no users requested that Game Clip recording be FORCED on and could NEVER be turned off. If anyone requested
that please show me where, because I have not seen nor heard such a thing.

You can't offer me support, you can't say 'they know about the issue,' nor can you fix it because only Microsoft can. The real bottom line is it could be optionally turned off, it LAUNCHED with this option. When off, it was NOT ALWAYS recording because the
user had turned the Game DVR OFF; that's exactly what the option was and there has been no notice or reason given as to why it was removed. Now it can't be disabled even when you actually disable the Game DVR. Now, it spams users regardless of if they ever
even wanted the ability in the first place, even when off. Something has broken. So, again, I don't feel you've read my posts because I do not see how such a blanketing post as yours can apply to anything I, the thread creator, have thus far written nor do
I see how it helps the situation in any manner what-so-ever. It seems entirely non-productive.

@Districtopia Sure, that sounds like a fair request to me. I'm sure plenty of people want something like that. But this is about the Game DVR running wildly out of control on every game even when the user unchecks every possible option related to it. It's
also about the option to actually turn it off being factually removed from the UI two updates ago and the whole thing being forced on forever. This forces users to just have to 'accept' and 'deal with' the constant stream of pop-ups that say "Game Clip Recorded"
with no way to stop it at all other than to turn the system off which defeats the entire purpose.

I have read the thread Ezhno and I have read your posts and the opening statement I made was not pointed at anyone imparticular, but as a general statement to those who seem to have the implied attitude I was inferring.

But to address your concern on my post, I do hear what you're saying, and to clarify, you're still wrong. The system is not "running wildly out of control on every game" recording clips all willy-nilly. The option to turn off the auto feature, as it implies
to the broad scope of what the system has to offer, is not only still there but has been expanded. The problem you're running into, as I mentioned above, is that it's the games (again not the system) that is doing this. Which has also been confirmed by Districtopia,
and I assure you a great many others. This isn't the first thread to bring this up.

MS uses these forums and I'm sure somebody has read your post. As an ambassador I have addressed your issue and even had that resolution confirmed, so you're not seeing anything from a support official because the question has been answered. I'm not saying
any of this to be snarky, so please don't misunderstand, I just like to get to the point as there are several other people that have questions and concerns that need addressing also and I only have so much free time in my day.

My suggestion at this point is to review your random recordings, see what games are the offenders, and match that to your library of games and then reference that with my previous statement. I can tell you off the bat some of the biggest offenders of the
    forced recordings are:

    Battlefield 4

    Madden 25

    Fifa 14

    NBA 2K14

    Dead Rising 3

    Kinect Sports Rivals

Now some of these games I know for a fact have an option in their menus to turn off the auto recordings, KSR and I believe DR3 being among those. The others I'm not sure. I'll have to check as I don't own NBA 2K14, Madden 25, and I no longer have BF4.

Take a look and let me know if there are other games you're having issues with that I didn't mention and if you're able to find an option in the games menus to turn off the auto record feature.

  13. System won't stop recording clips

    Hey everyone!

Sorry to hear about the DVR issues, I can definitely understand how frustrating that could be. We do appreciate the feedback that you have provided regarding this issue and are reading your posts. Is anyone that is experiencing this issue participating
in the Preview Program? If so please let us know.

As bigbenx88 suggested it would be helpful to know if the issue occurs with specific games and how often the issue continues. Another option to help troubleshoot the issue would be to try to download your profile to a different console
and see if the issue continues while playing one of the effected games.

Please keep us updated and we will be standing by to help.

@Mister Quimby I am participating in the preview program. I just started this week, though. Not sure if that matters.

I can say that the only offending game right now for me is KSR. Only started after the update they pushed a week or two ago, too. I do have Madden 25 which someone else mentioned was one of the games doing this, but I have not played it much at all yet.
This is not a problem in Titanfall or Forza5.

For some people experiencing this problem give this a go,

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Power down your console, then unplug the power cable from the back of the Xbox One. Wait for two minutes, then plug the power cable back into the back of the Xbox One, and monitor the power brick, waiting
for it to cycle from a white light to an orange light, and then turn the power on. This will perform a cold restart of the system.

Don't forget as well that even though DVR/UPLOAD might be turned off it is set to record
KEY MOMENTS in games as well as achievements.
